Cordless Hitachi Miter Saw – Feel The Difference
The blade edge below the handle is the heel and the front end is the toe. The 6-foot cord is very limiting, though. We’d like to see a much longer one on this model. The U-shaped frame has a swiveling spigot (clip) at each end to hold the ends of the blade.
The recharge rate is an especially speedy one hour. The Hitachi miter saw comes with the carbide-tipped blade, an on-board hex wrench and a heavy-duty contractor bag. It comes with an insert that helps prevent splintering when cutting wood and a parallel guide that can be used from both sides of the base plate.
And this model holds up just fine. This model also features a good-sized viewing window that provides a clear view of the cutting line, rear dust exhaust and a generous 15-foot cord so you’ve got plenty of room to work. The Hitachi circular saw with laser guide also features a spindle lock for quick and easy blade changes. For example, when working in bright light or outdoors on a sunny day, the laser beams are barely visible.
Pros: Sleek and lightweight framing saw is powerful enough to cut through just about anything, full-length front and rear kerf indicators. All it takes is a screwdriver, and you can replace worn brushes in seconds.
Cons: Price. To safely use a miter saw, first make sure that the wood is firmly held in a wood vice or by clamps so it does not move during cutting. The laser is mounted inside the blade guard, turns on and off with the touch of a button and eliminates the guesswork that accompanies tough-to-follow pencil lines, low lighting conditions or sawdust, which can obscure your view. The blades vary in width, length, and number of teeth, or points. It’s not just good looking.
Some models use an adjustable frame to accommodate 8-, 10-, or 12-inch blades as needed.
