Analog Amp
how do i measure 0-10 amps on a dc motor and output a 0-10 volt analog signal for a PLC?
I need to measure the amp draw to a DC motor, as i want to use it to drive in screws, and the amp load on the motor will tell me if there is a screw loaded (if there is no amp increase) and/or if the threaded hole is messed up (there will be an excesive amp draw)? I need a 0-10 volt output for the analog input on a PLC (programmable logic control)
I would think the most common but most expensive way to do it would be to use a DC Drive to power your dc motor. It’s very common in industry to use AC or DC drives & motors tied into PLC programming.
In your case, you may need an amp meter or current meter & use that reading as your input & set up a ratio of some sort to control speed & set a high & low limit but that input may only tell the output in your PLC to stop & start the motor & not control speed.
