How do i make my External Drive work when using a different usb cable?
Meaning i got the wire that came with the drive however it only worked for about a couple of months and now i have to wrap it around the drive just to make it work. So i went to wal-mart and got a Belkin USB cable and it doesnt work. What should i do next. By the way my External Drive has a warranty
Sounds like your drive is broken, probably the connector. If you try the cable on something else that uses the same connector and it definately works, the drive is gone. If you can use the old cable to backup what you need off of it, then contact the manufacturer to organise a replacement (They may require you to contact the retailer you bought it from first, they may just replace it on the spot.)
