How to release Carousel Brake/Clutch in HP 2840?
I have a HP LaserJet 2840 and it’s only printing on the right side of the page. I looked it up and found the most likely culprit to be a misaligned print carousel. All the instructions I have found reference releasing the Carousel Brake/Clutch by inserting a paper clip or small screwdriver into some hole. Where is it EXACTLY b/c I can’t find it… Is there a picture somewhere?
That is usually under the access cover for the toner cartridges, and there is usually a slot or hole along the side of the opening that you stick something in to release that, but I’m not familiar with that specific printer. I did download the service manual, and it sounds like you’re on the right track about the carousel not being aligned right, and there’s a whole section devoted to removing and checking carousel alignment, but it doesn’t say anything about where that release is. Sorry.
If you can find someone local with HP manual access, maybe they could get the service manual for you.
