Crystal Detector
are these rocks or crystals?
Some of the kids in the neighborhood were using a metal detector in the woods and found a bunch of weird rocks like things. They are not like a normal rock. Some are very smooth and super shiny and some look like they are rusting. They almost look like lava rocks because they have rounded indents in them like air pockets. Any idea what they are? They want to believe they are worth something. Any idea where I would go to find out so they don’t continue to dig them up and get there hopes up for nothing.
Most likely it is either scoria or slag. Scoria is a naturally occurring lava rock and slag is a by-product of making steel
