1. Try cleaning your game disks by using a microfiber cloth dipped in a small amount of warm water, along with a small drop of dishwashing liquid dissolved in the water. Don’t rub on the disks too vigorously, as you may risk damage to the disk. Leave the disk to dry in the air; this wont take long and will prevent scratching.
2. You should also try and clean the Blu-Ray laser lens of your PS3 by using Isopropyl Alcohol (also known as rubbing alcohol) on the end of a cotton bud. Be careful not to apply excessive pressure and therefore risk damage to the delicate laser lens.
3. To negate the risk of software conflicts causing your PS3 to not be reading games properly you should also try a complete software reset. NOTE- when done correctly this will not delete any save games or stored data on your hard drive, merely it will revert the PS3 to its factory standard operating settings. In order to do this, place your PS3 in stand- by mode, hold the touch power button until a series of beeps are heard (one long, followed by two short beeps) then release the button and follow the instructions on screen.
