How hard is it to switch from acoustic guitar to electric?
I’ve been playing guitar for 3 years now and can play songs like classical gas etc and am thinking about switching to electric guitar. How hard will it be for me to transfer to electric guitar and play solos and bends etc??? Will it take long?? Also I’m thinking of buying an ibanez grg121EX- people have told me its suited for heavy metal guitar but could i play old school rock or even blues if i wanted on it?
It depends how good you are if you want to solo and everything.
Switching to an electric guitar in general will be easier, the frets should be large if it’s on an Ibanez, which means less pressure needed to hear the chord/note properly. Which then means you’ll be able to speed up quicker, plus the cutaway neck is great for playing those high notes. Ibanez is more suited to Metal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play another genre of music on it.
