For hydrogen bromide gas cylinder, is it necessary to use explosion proof tools?
This info obtained from Praxair MSDS(P-4605-F). Other than that, it stated all equipment need to be grounded, i would like to know the reason as HBr is toxic but not flammable gas. Thank you.
Call Praxair and ask them to make sure. As the reference states, if the HBr leaks, it can form hydrogen on reaction with the moisture in the air. The hydrogen is very flammable and a leak that was not notice would be enough.
