Just picked up my Ridge on Friday (RTL w/ moon and navi). It came with 3 months on XM. Thought I'd give it a go. For those who live in the Pacific Northwest, I was driving along I-84 heading towards Pendleton, and the frigging XM kept going in and out saying on the Nav screen and radio "NO SIGNAL"
Anyone experienced this? What to do? Who to call?
Please HELP...

What is the terrain like in the area you are talking about? I lose signal when on some of the mountain roads in Colorado.
If it's "wide-open spaces", I suggest you have it checked my Honda at your next service visit.
Good Luck! |

There are mountains on one side. But I thought the whole purpose of paying for a SATELLITE RADIO service is so we don't have this problem.
Sent a complaint letter to XM Radio and I will let you guys know what they say... |

Noticed the same thing bringing home my new Ridge from Seattle to Spokane 2 months ago. I lost the signal repeatedly going throught the pass!! You will also lose it downtown within the tall buildings........I guess we might be too far north for the satellite to receive the signal. :(

| I read once the number of satellites that each system has in the sky. Seems like in one case (XM or Sirius) they had an extra one that helped the far-northern locations. |

Hmmmm, I thought it was the "too far north" - but perhaps I have it backwards. I know it made sense at the time since I beleive satellite radio was not even available for our CDN friends until recently.
The fact still remains that if driving in mountains, you will lose signal on ocassion (at least I do - with both my RidgeLine and my portable unit).
YMMV

Yes but is that the service that you signed up for. To occasially lose service when it is not convienent for you. Are you getting are discount on your ocassional service of XM. Just my thoughts. I am in business for and I provide a service to others and it is not my understanding to pay for something that works ocassionally especially if you (XM) is trying to gain my business by paying them $10. bucks a month, $120. a year for occasional service. Same crap with cell phones but that's another issue.
No disrespect to you colorider but driving your vehicle for the first time on a road that you know you have to drive at least 4x a month for 3 hours one way.... hmmm..... and signal occasionally works....

None taken. Just sharing my experience.
If XM does not provide what you expect - I suggest you drop the service. |

colorider I believe you are correct. I live near a small town with a few relatively tall buildings. If I am stopped at a light and the building is on the south I lose siginal. That would indicate to me the satillite is south. I was under the impression they were over the equator but will stand corrected if wrong. What is being described is not normal. Need to take the truck back to dealer. sounds like a bad or loose connection from the xm antenna. The Canada situation would tell me the satallite is south. JMO |
