I like the trunk so much that I often forget that sometimes it would be just lots easier to throw the stuff in the bed and drive home! Last night I went to Home Depot to get a new mailbox and post. When I got out to the truck, I instinctively started to open the trunk when I just decided to put the stuff in the bed. I also had an eight foot long roll of screening material that I put in the bed with one end sticking through the rear window.
Let us know how you use the trunk, if at all! |

| I'd use my trunk even more, if it weren't full all the time! Our double stroller fits perfectly, so it pretty much lives in there. In addition to that I've got a full size spare, so the tools are on the shelf. I also carry a small tool kit, an assortment of tie-down straps, a tow strap, the cargo net, a Sam's Club freezer bag (just in case), an umbrella stroller and a sledge hammer (for work). That pretty much fills it up, though I do shove the occasional odd or end in there if its small enough to fit in the cracks between all the other stuff. |

I coach fastpitch softball and the truck perfectly holds two five gallon buckets full of softballs, plus a batbag, cleats etc. Now the dirt stays out of my vehicle and the gear is dry!!
I was sold the moment I saw my buckets fit - That is a deep trunk!! |

I'm funny about my trunks on all my cars. I hate using them as a storage unit, although that is what my wife tends to do. The reason? I want to be able to put stuff in there when I need to! I have a garage for a storage unit, anyway!
A couple months ago, on our trip to Palm Springs, the wife so loaded us down for a two night trip, I thought we were driving across the country. She had two pool bags, floatation devices, a poolside cooler, other toys, etc. in the trunk, and I ended up storing our suitcases in the bed exteder (up against the back wall of the cab). I tied them in with Bungees so they wouldn't fly out and be harder to steal if we stopped. Everything worked out great, though.
The truck's trunk won't swallow as much as my Camry's will, for sure, but it handles a lot more than any other pick-up trunk that I have ever seen! :P

| I got those three hard plastic dividers that you can slide into the bottom part of the trunk and I love them. I can fit a pair of shoes, a toolbox... they don't slide around, and I still have plenty of room on top for golf clubs or groceries. |

| I had four 5-gallon gas cans in my trunk with room left over for the groceries! Not a great combination, I might add, but the gas cans were empty and hadn't spilled in the trunk, yet! |

| Since I added the tonneau cover, it is a pain to un-lock the manual key lock to get to the trunk, so until I install the electric solenoid lock for the tail gate to be on the remote control, I probably will be using the back seat for storage. Sure wish Honda would have just added electric tailgate lock at factory. |

You added a manual keyed lock onto your tailgate? How long have you had that? I just got my electric locking solenoid with the add-on key for emergency unlocking from Basic Koncepts, but I haven't installed it yet. |

| No, the manual lock is part of OEM Honda Tonneau cover. I suppose I could just leave the lock on the tonneau unlocked, since there is nothing in the bed anyway. Then it would be quick and simple to use the trunk, but there is also the garage problem. I have to back my truck into the garage for it to fit, then opening the tailgate is impossible. And who wants to park twice just to unload the trunk, then back it the rest of the way into the garage. My wife and I have no kids, so the back seat is just as easy to store groceries and what not. |

I have always been a trunk kinda guy. Probably the one thing I missed the most when I had the MDX was the trunk. I don't store things in the trunk, but I like to transport things in the trunk.
If the 24 votes we now have in this poll are indicative of the general consensus, then it seems like Honda has really hit on something! |

All my dirty stuff, chains, straps, trailer hitch, tools, stay in it. Then I keep towels and a bottle of simple green. Then on weekends, all the groceries fit in with room to spare.
Sometimes I put stuff in it that I'd otherwise carry up front just because there are folks around who haven't seen it or the two-way tailgate.
Love this truck! |

The last time I pulled into the car wash, a lady pulled up behind me in a Ford Explorer Sport Trac (OH NO, not Sport Trac again!). I got out to put my briefcase in the trunk to go through the car was so they could vacuum up the inside. As I was closing the trunk, I glanced at her, and I could see she was very impressed. She nodded and smiled. So did I, of course. That is the reason the trunk is so cool, making other truck owners jealous. :P

Guess I'll have to clean it out. |

My Trunk always conmtains my Jump Leads, Compressor, Tire Chains (even in summer), 2 blankets.
I also use the trunk to store my Camera equipment so it is nice and secure and more importantly, out of sight, |

Hiding Christmas presents right now. Odyssey Mudguards for the wife (I'm a romantic that way), toys for the kids.
