Here is a picture of my new exhaust i had put on my truck. It all magnaflow parts with a BIG magnaflow muffler. The exhaust tone is nice and low, still sounds like a v6, but a healthy v6. I recommend it to anyone who has been on the fence about getting their exhuast done. If anyone has anymore questions about it, feel free to ask....

Question #1: Can we get some pics from underneath?

Question #2: Can we get an audio recording of how it sounds?

Thanks!

From the picture, it appears so - and I also wonder how this setup would fit with the trailer towing package installed.

Yes the did cut of that useless hook off under the truck, it really doesnt serve much purpose after they get your truck off the trailer at the dealership. Ill try and get some audio files up as soon as i can. here are a couple pics under the truck.

That last picture makes it look like you may have lost a little ground clearance. Is that the case or is it an optical illusion? Doesn't really matter if you don't off road but some people won't trade ground clearance for anything.

EDIT: Same for the tow hook. Doesn't mean much if you don't take it off road but is a necessity if you do. Unibody vehicles can be tricky to find a tow point. Yeah if you have a big ol' nasty frame you can wrap a chain anywhere on the frame and yank the vehicle out of a rut. Pick the wrong spot on a unibody and you bend things. That is why Honda gave you a specific tow point.

ya my truck definatly doesnt go off road, its to nice for that. The only 4x4 stuff my truck see's is some snow once in a while but thats it. I did loose alittle bit of ground clearance, but nothing to be worried about. Im getting almost 2 miles a gallon better in gas mileage with the new exhaust so it was worth it alone on that.

Wow, that's an awesome increase in gas mileage. Can you give us the part numbers or model number for the muffler you used?

How many tanks of gas have you used to determine the increase of 2mpg?

Its been about 4 tanks of gas now that i have seen and increase in-between 1 and 2 miles per gallon. Ill try and get the part number for you. Ill have to call the muffler shop to get the exact part #. After i got the exhaust done the engine wasn't reving as high during normal excelleration, it felt like the truck had more low end torque for normal everyday driving. And when i am on the freeway i can stay in fith gear and actually excellerate without the truck having to downshift. With the new exhuast system i get around 19 miles per gallon average, which is about 1/2 city, 1/2 highway. I used to get about 17 mi/ per gallon.

I truly love the way that it looks, and would like to hear it as well. Thanks for posting the pics.

Can you enlighten us on the pricing?

Well, its called a tow hook for a reason. If you ever need a tow it would have been used to secure the truck to the flatbed. It is also used to winch out of tight spots, such as the bottom of a ditch if the VSA can't counteract a "whoopsie" driving error. Here's hoping you'll never need it! :D

why not hook it up with a cofee can muffler i would say it would sound closely like an accord :). Does it at least sound close to a v8?

No bro it doesnt sound like a v8, probably because it is a v6. Ya its hard to get a really "different" sound out of a v6, just like all v8's sound pretty much the same. Take that coffee can, turn it sideways, and stick it up your ass.

I'm sure it is close to the typical V6 sound. Not bad - just different than a V8. They tend to sound a bit like the older I6 with headers.

As for the coffee can remark - a smiley would have been nice to include............. :D

BTW, please add your state flag to your profile.

TIA

I don't think he was making a joke colorider. It sounds like bigridge, like me, is tired of the "haters". A few dumb kids have turned off a lot of people with their cheap Chinese made universal fit mufflers on Civics and Neons. The import performance scene is much broader than that, but that's what people always go back to when they want to hate on us ("us" meaning import performance guys, which is technically the category that bigridge and I fall into now that we've modified our Ridgelines). I'm waiting for a truly custom tuned exhaust system before I change the pipes on my Ridgeline, I'm expecting something to come out this year. That doesn't mean you can't get a good sound and more power from a custom job like bigridge's, I'm sure his truck sounds awesome now.

I too am getting tired of the "haters" - but I'm hoping we can restrain ourselves a bit and keep this site as open as possible to posting. I do not want an over-moderated forum. I'm hoping that others feel the same and will work with the Admin and myself on this. :)

I know what you are talking about on the mufflers. Instead of coffee can, I usually refer to them as tomato juice cans. They are loud and obnoxious in many cases. I have very little tolerance for noise pollution from loud exhaust on cars/motorcycle and or loud stereos.

Ya I wasn't kidding when i made that post. It just pissed me off that someone would ask "does it sound like a v8?" What it actually sounds like is my Dad's Porsche Carrera 4s. I know that sounds funny but it really does. Every idiot with a "flowmaster" and a v8 think they are original when they sound practically the same. That's pretty much what my point was.
