Has anyone actualy lifted their ridge with one of the available lift kits? Does it effect performance, ride, etc?

I really would like to lift my Ridgeline but I hate to be the first one! I'm a chicken, really...has anyone else even considered lifting their Ridgeline?

Aside from serious off-roaders who are in search of the ultimate ground to vehicle clearance, why would someone install a lift kit?

I do agree that they make the truck look rugged but keep in mind that the center of gravity also changes thus making the truck more vulnerable to a roll-over in high speed manoeuvers. I'm pretty sure that there may also be some compromise to the near-perfect ride that the Ridgeline already possesses.

Just my $0.02 worth (Canadian of course....)

I'm really one to to talk right? I'm still not over my chrome addiction. Now, I'm thinking of having my stock rims chromed by a company out in CA. I wonder if this beats having them polished?

BTW to Ridgeline2006 and to all members, all the best for the new year!

I had the Skyjacker 2" kit installed last week. My coworker kept parking his Pilot next to my Ridgeline and commenting that they were the same height.....so I had it installed. Everything feels the same, no new noises, ride is the same, just a bit higher. It looks really good, it's subtle, no one has asked if it lifted, they just say "it looks tougher than other Ridgelines - you put bigger tires on?" I'll post a picture later, and updates on whether it was a good idea or not as things go on.

Now that looks real cool! Any info on price? Ease of install, etc.?

Wonder what it'd look like with 19 or 20 inch wheels...

A little googling and I see that the Skyjacker lift kits cost about $275.00.

Does anyone have installation pics? Or pics of the installed kit? Or even the installation instructions?

Is that pic of a Body Lift :?: I agree that raising a truck with a lot of geometry and controlled systems is tricky, but I think by now the companies have worked out the bugs. The simplest fix for the controlled systems would be a gear ratio change in response to the changed tire diameter. That way the Nav system is still recieving an accurate distance measurement from the speedo and odometer. One question I do have is this: how probable and cost effective would it be to have a driveshaft shop (reputable) create one-off custom shafts for the truck? I know many who have done this with the Exterra, but the independant shafts with CV's must cost a bit for the Ridge'. What do you think? I would love to see a good 3" suspension lift with upgraded gears, shafts, and brakes. Maybe we could get a hold of the designs from the Baja Trophy Truck?

The SkyJacker kit isn't a body lift. Technically its a strut spacer. Some manufacturers (Truxx) are including MDX control arm linkages to prevent binding, others aren't. I haven't seen any complaints either way, except for the extra expense of the kits that include them.

A much easier way to adjust the speedo than by regearing is by modifying the VSS signal. This can be done fairly easily with a little box that is easy to install and is widely available. I believe I've posted links to it here somewhere. I don't have it handy right now.

I'm planning to install a lift kit and, eventually, larger tires. I had hoped to have the lift installed before my trip to AZ, but that's not likely to happen now as I'm leaving in one week and I don't even have the lift kit yet. Hopefully one of these days I'll have the money for some upgrades!
