Had to make an emergency trip up north last Saturday. Weather conditions were terrible but I had to go. About 50 miles into the trip I ran into freezing rain. Traffic slowed to about 45 mph on the interstate. Everyone was using the right lane and it was fairly clear of ice. I came up on a car doing about 40 mph and had enough confidence in the Ridge to move to the left lane and pass him at abou 45 or 50 mph. A new Mustang came up on my back bumper as I passed the slower car. After I passed, I decide to give the slower car 5 or 6 car lengths before pulling back in front of him. The Mustang driver would have none of that swerved into the right lane and passed me. When he was 2 or 3 car lengths in front of me he fish tailed and went sideways. He passed in front of me sideways and hit the center divide shoulder ass first less than 2 car lengths in front of me. I'm sure that I hit the brakes, because if I hadn't slowed somewhat, I would have creamed him, when he was sideways in front of me. The Ridge never swerved or lost traction. I looked in my rear view mirror for a second and saw that the Mustang was spinning to a stop in the wide center divide. I nearly had brown stains in my pants, so I can just emagine how the Mustang driver felt.

Was the other driver lucky enough to be in an area with no center barricade? If he had done that here, it would have been the end of his Mustang, for sure.

Having driven in severe rain and wind just last weekend (4 inches of rain, 75 mph gusts), I am really amazed at how this truck is buttoned down in those conditions. I'm very glad you came out unscathed. That other guy could use some driving lessons, though.

No big deal. It's just a ford. :P

The way that guy was driving, it's only a matter of time before natural selection takes care of him anyway.
