Hi,

This is my first post here. Nice site, I've been lurking for about 6 months

I will very likely be purchasing an '06 RTL without NAVi or XM. I use a non-IPOD MP3 player that I'd like to play in the 'Ridge. I also will be hooking up my Garmin 376C GPS, which displays not only GPS info, but also has NEXRAD weather radar images overlaid (the reason why I'm not getting NAVi).

I got confused reading through all the other threads that are somewhat on this subject. It seems that (obviously) this is a non-issue on NAVi models via the factory aux input. Also, it seems that there are now quite a few IPOD docks outthere that can be connected to the stock stereo unit. But is there anything out there to plug an aux jack into teh head unit for devices that use normal 1/8" mini stereo plugs?

Thanks for the help, and I hope to be a frequent visitor here,
Troy

You will need a Soundgate SNHOND3. I used it to hook up my Skyfi2 XM receiver,

Colorider: I currently live in MA, but I'm in the military so I move around quite a bit.

Tlaudio: Thanks for the information on the adapter. Has it been decided on where the best place is to purchase it from? How's the install? if it's pretty easy, how much time should I figure on it taking me?

I have the AUX port on my Ridge and I dont have an IPOD, I have a Creative MP3 player. What i did was go to Radio Shack and bought a double ended male cable that is 4' long for about $4.00 and i can use that on my DVD player and MP3 plaver so I can hear it all through the speekers in the truck.
Hope that helps U out, from a fellow soldier.RLTW
