Kinda late in the year to be thinking about putting winter tires on, but you needed a winter under your belt to check them out, oh well there is allways next year. In december I put 4 of these tires on my Ridge ( I did want the Michelin X-Ice but not available in 17 inch at the time) Got to say from my personal experience I agree with the writer of the following article. On hard packed snow (kinda icy conditions ) for starting and stopping a A+ (but beware the guy behind you woun't stop as quick as you) In very deep snow, wheels off the ground under carriage hung up a tow truck or shovel. That dreaded black ice condition can only say dam slow and let the VSA work.
