New Ridegeline Sidesteps

The new and improved replacement side steps are finally available from Honda. They come in black, chrome, and painted silver (same finish as the roof rack).

Anyone who had the metal sidesteps that were oxidizing/peeling can have them replaced under warranty. Make sure you check availability of the color you want. They look similar to the tube side steps on the Pilot and MDX and look great on the Ridgeline. I had mine replaced already.

Those of you who did not get them installed with the truck, and purchased them over-the-counter, could get a new one by bringing in the receipt with the old steps for a new one, otherwise parts and labor will be covered for the dealer installed steps.

I've been waiting several months for the replacement side steps. Just contacted my local dealer and he says they are not available yet. He made several calls and said they are backordered nationally with no due date. They are not shown as an option at the Honda website yet either.
I'd love to get the chrome as it will look much better than the dull aluminum steps. Does anyone know a source?

Does anyone know if the Honda chrome units are polished stainless-steel or chrome-plated?

You could check them out with a magnet, it depends on the grade or quality of the stainless steel (if they are stainless steel) as a magnet will not stick to some SS.
