There isn't a handy spot I've found for a trash bag and the NOT AN ASHTRAY fills up quickly with gum wrappers and I'd prefer to reserve that space for useful items like unused gum, floss, insurance cards, etc.
So, what do y'all do with the incidental cups, cans, Kleenexes, etc? |

This is definitely low-tech, but I got a small Starbucks bag, and it fits right in the tray on the floor between the footwells. It fits in there just so, adndoes not slide back and forth.
You can buy a small trash can to fit in the same space at just about any auto parts store. Or even Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
Good luck! |

I'm not one to generate much trash on a daily basis so I just stuff it in the cup holders if it fits and usually take it out when I get to my destination, a gas station, or home, whichever is most convenient for tossing it!
If I'm on a road trip, I usually accumulate trash between stops for gas and empty it at the gas station. Again, not much trash piles up in my Ridgeline. |

| I use your Starbucks spot for my duct tape and megathermal coffee mug. I thought I might stick some hooks inside the NOT AN ASHTRAY for hangers and try that. Also, I found I have about 40 feet of Velcro I forgot I had and may get creative with that instead. I need to figure something out before that spousal type critter that rides with me sticks another Kleenex in a cupholder again. |

| Ever try hooking a plastic market bag on the two hooks on the back of the center console? It take a slighht reach from the front seat to put something in there, but it's guranteed not to roll around (unless the bag splits :P ). |

| I bought a little square cherry-wood wastebasket at Target for about $10.Fits the area in front of the console perfectly. Only down side is you have to move it when accessing the lower console slider. |

| I don't usually create much trash in my car so I usually use a small plastic bag and dump it when I'm back home. :? |

Many months ago I found a great trash container at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's a heavy can that fits perfectly on the center front floor tray. It's still there and has become part of the truck..
I have pics and will post soon......Marge, Marge, I need help!! God I'm lazy...... |

If I put a trash can in that spot, then where would I put the Chinese carry-out?
I put trash in the cup holder and try to take it out when I get out...hopefully I won't accumulate too much trash that way. |

| I never eat or drink in my rl if I can help it and gum wrappers and small trash I just put in the cup holders. I am usually the only one except for my dog that ever rides in it so I keep my extension cords and assorted gardening supplies on the back floor and under the seat. The inside looks just as cluttered as any of my other trucks ever did. I do a total inside clean out and vacuum every month or so and end up with half of it back in with in a week. |

I will do as I do in my BMW now.
I bought one of the insulated bags from trader joes. They have a zipper to close them, are remarkably roomy and don't look bad just tossed on the floor of the passenger footwell or rear of the vehicle.
Granted, having to unzip the bag to throw the starbucks cup in there is an extra step but zipping it closed again keeps the trash contained within as well as any possible foul odors (used chewing gum, bannana peel, tuna sandwich leftovers etc.)
Then when I feel like it I can just grab the handled bag, take it to the trashcan and empty it. I think I payed all of about $4.99 for it and it looks more sort of like mini luggage and to me is better to see it sitting on the floor somewhere rather than looking at an open trash can and or a trashcan with snotty kleenex that get pulled out of the trash when opening the windows up.
The inside of these insulated bags are a vinyl type material so cleaning is a snap by simply turning the bag inside out and washing in either the dish washer or under the tap in the kitchen sink. Though I generally keep plastic bags tucked away in my sedan and put the trash in that which might be sticky or smelly and tie the opening shut with a knot then throw it in the trader joes bag to contain it. Really keeps down on any odors of stuff that I probably should have made an extra stop to throw away or shouldnt be eating in the car in the first place. |
