I finally did it. I went and got the spray in linner done. only thing I have to say is why didn't I get it done sooner. It looks SSSSOOOOOOOOOOO much better than when it was new even. Here are some pics of the process.
The lower bed/trumk removed.
My naked truck. I drove around 3 days like this.
Several pics of the finished product. This looks so good i can't tell ya. It's a Superior linner that has a lifetime warranty against everything including fading (My Rhino linning pet peve).
I wish I had more before pics. It was so bad I can't even tell ya.

If you ever get it done you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

| this just makes me more angry that I have to be so careful about putting stuff in my bed b/c you all know how easy it scratches. I think we should take a lawsuit out on honda, we all know that it says scratch resistant!! I love the truck but its not so much a truck when you have to treat it like its fragile. |

| I have been following the Ridgeline development before the truck was actually named. In all the information I had seen prior & post release I have never seen anything stating from Honda that the bed was/is scratch resistant. All I have ever seen published from Honda is that the bed is dent resistant. Does any such Honda claim exist?? Can someone provide it?? |

| IMHO I think the scatch resistant originated from the numerous Kudos the Ridgeline received (Auto Journalist & Sales persons) In to-days world it sure don't take long to pass true or false info on. |

I don't torture the bed, but I don't baby it either, and the amount of permanent scratches isn't all that bad. I report a few deep gouges that I caused early on, but that hasn't happened since then.
Other than the salesman telling me (I was the first Ridgeline he sold!) that it was virtually indestructilbe, I don't remember Honda promising me anything about the bed and I didn't buy the Ridgeline because of the bed lining. |

Like you said 2006. I was told the bed was virtually indestructable by the sales rep. If you note it is a careful play on words. Like CR-V states, I believe that the 'scratch' resistance formed on it's own, but many have grasped onto this. Sorry folks but even bedliners scratch. My last truck had a drop in which was scratched and even had gashes. What I would like to see from Honda would be that the black color is impregnated throughout the composite material. That would be a good decision and I am sure that it will likely be in the near future.
BTW my LineX is holding up very well... 8) |

| I think your right it has become hearsay. but I am going to look at my brochure that I got when i bought it. I do remember a friends sport trac and the bed was a lot more durable from the factory, kind of discouraging...I also just recently put a nice deep scratch in my rear window from one of my mountain bikes, Im just not having any good luck and thinking I should buy an old truck to haul stuff and get a TL. |
