i would be interested in a lift kit as well.

i go out to the mountains a few times a year and i would prefer a lift. not too outrageous, but just enough to give it better clearance.

There was supposedly a RL with a lift at one of the trade shows when the truck was still a concept. I was walking under one on the lift the other day pondering a lift myself. It is going to take a pretty good amount of engneering to get this truck up in the air (safely). The suspension(s) are mounted to the sub-frames and those could be lowered (similar to a body lift), but then you are relying solely on the mounting hardware (instead of the factory designed mounting points, etc..) to keep the suspension attached. It can (and probably will) be done at some point, but I think it will be a while before a reputable company designs a durable, well thought out, and safe lift kit. That's my $.02

A lift kit for a Ridgeline? Never gonna happen. Its on a unitbody. Pretty hard to lift it.

I think you could add 1-2 inches easily with some spacers on the struts. You could trade downtravel for lift like you do with a spacerlift on a Tacoma front end - beyond that - it would be a big deal.

I hope they come out with a lift for this puppy, get some more looks then i already will with the sound of a V8 coming from this thing. It would be awesome, but id want it to be high quality, and somthing good and strong to make up for the unibody. a 4-6" lift with some BFG 285/50/20s and some weld evo 20"s would be awesome, just need to make sure the unibody could handle all the extra weight and stress tho first.

I lifted my CR-V an inch with taller springs. I don't see why such a mild lift wouldn't also work on the Ridgeline.

I would'nt be so down on the unibody - it's reinforced with a frame and Honda claims it's several times stiffer than the body/frame design.

You can see in their marketing materials pics showing how the cab/roof are part of the load-bearing structure. Thats not the case in your average pickup.

I would like a couple inches, just enough to make it look a little more aggressive. I would then put 20's on it. What can be done to accomplish this?

Here's my $.02cdn. Lifting the RL is going to be a bear of a job!

The Ridgeline uses trailing arms for the rear, right? So for the rear at least, lifting means modifyng the geometry of those arms and still keep them centered in the wheel wells.

The rear differential is bolted directly to the frame members so if you raise the frame in relation to the tire placement you are 'stretching' the distance from the diff's to the wheel hubs unless you lower the diff's in relation to the frame. That's ok for the rear but the front, I'm guessing is a transaxle arrangement that has the engine/tranny/diff bolted directly to one-another. So, to raise the front up you have to increase the length of the drive shafts or risk busting the CV/U-joints at the hub or output on the diff.

Once that problem is solved you have to ensure the angle of the left and right axles are not too steep in relation to the hubs and diffs so the CV's can handle it at extreme limits of suspension travel.

Solid axle 4x4's are easy in comparison as your distance between the diff and hubs is always the same.

I'm not trying to be a nay-sayer but you'd be looking at a pretty complicated proceedure, eh. Unless... If you lower the font sub frame and engine with spacers and install a spacer kit at the center and rear diffs it may be possible! Sorry for the ramble.

Excellent things to be learned here from drmay, I think. From my standpoint, having totally dorked up my '82 Datsun 2WD truck with both suspension and body lift kits until I couldn't get proper alignments (and, almost forgot -- cab 'liberation'-- with me in the cab), I think I've had enough of that kind of adventure. I'll probably just keep my Ridgeline at stock height, thankyou.

I think I may be able to help make this happen. I've been working with a great company that has done lifts for us on other vehicles. Great quality, and awesome product. www.cornfedsuspension.com

Anyone that is interested please EMAIL:

CornfedSuspension@cox.net

If they get enough interest, it can be done. Please email! Also, first customer may get a free kit when it's ready.
