Hi everybody-
Potential Ridgeline owner here...

I've read many posts on this site, and they've been really helpful. I live in MA, and am trying to get an understanding of what is expected for new vehicle pricing. Can I get invoice pricing like elsewhere in the country? I've never bought a Honda before...

I'm mostly interested in the RTL with some goodies. MSRP from the Honda 'build and price' site is $32,435.

I've requested pricing from a few dealers via email. One dealer (Lundgren Honda, Auburn, MA) got back to me with a 'no haggle' price of $32,837. hmm

Where do I go and how hard can I push these people?

Thanks very much-
Bob

Hey bud. I managed to pick up an RL from Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough. I visited them to get pricing, and called several other places. I was able to get the best deal from them, but I think that's mostly attributed to the fact that I put in some 'face time' there, and simply called the other dealers.

Basically, I bought an 07 RT for $500 under invoice and had them install the heated leather seats, hitch, mud flaps + roof rack at cost. I thought it was quite a fair deal. (They would have sold me any model at $500 under invoice btw).

In retrospect, I wish I had started the process at a different dealer. I've heard great things about Lundgren Honda in Auburn, and I think that if I had put in the same effort there as I did @ HC, I would have gotten a similar price. So far, I've been VERY UNIMPRESSED with the service department @ Herb Chambers. I thought their sales people were rather sleezy as well...

No problem. I did call Lundgren, and they basically quoted me MSRP over the phone. I couldn't get them to give me any break beyond that. For that reason, I never bothered to go down there. Perhaps if you show your face, they'll start negotiating. There is a Honda dealer in Natick (Bernardi?) that was reasonable too- but they are a little further from me.

If you do end up going through Herb Chambers, my salesman from Westboro was Casper (CJ). He was a decent enough kid. My suggestion would be to figure out the exact truck you want, then figure out what the realistic invoice price is for it (vehix.com is pretty good). Then, walk in and say "most dealers are quoting me invoice on these trucks, can you do any better?" And then tell them exactly what you want. You will have to pay $595 destination I believe as well. Don't let anyone sell you an aftermarket warranty either- the HondaCARE is only slightly more expensive.
What part of MA are you from?

I live in Worcester now, but I've also lived in Westboro + Douglas. There are lots of great topics here. Once you pick up the RL, there are a lot of ideas about how to tweak, improve and enjoy it. It's also a great place to troubleshoot if you have any issues... It's also a good place to get convinced to buy an RL, but it doesn't sound like you need any help with that.

Deployment, eh??? Let us know what happens! What branch?
