| OK, I'm an admitted newbie, like I was at one time at other forums. I'm involved in three other forums, 1 uses vbulletin and the other two use phpBB which is apparently what this site uses. However the other two do not look or feel anything like this site. I have found this format less intuitive and more difficult to get the hang of than the other three. Sorry. |

As I said previously, ease of navigation will help to keep lurkers and get them to join in. It appears, as mentioned in the above post, there is more than one version of php. Consider one of the newer versions that, as stated above by PLS752, are easier to get the hang of. |

| The more user-friendly/intuitive, the better. Sites I go to that use vB are just more user-friendly, and I tend to frequent (and join) them more often. |

| Oh - and as was stated earlier: should this site grow to thousands of members (which is the point, right?), vB will be much appreciated. Recent Topics as a short sidebar is nice, but when they grrrrrrrrrOOOWWWWW... |

If this site switched to vB I think that there would be another surge in membership. Part of the reason that I didn't participate much since joining many months ago was that I thought that it was somewhat more difficult to use and navigate as compared to vB sites.
It's not that pHp is all that difficult to use. After using it more and more over the past few weeks, its almost as easy as falling off a ROCk.  Ohhhh.... Sorry, that was so bad, I just couldn't resist! All just in fun though. |

I kind of like the V setup myself, since I've been on a few sites that have that set up. From an administrator standpoint, I would not know if it is easier or not.
My 2 cents! |

I voted for change. vBulletin operates smoother, photos upload easier and there is a whole page dedicated to "New Posts". When this site gets up into the 6K membership area you'll appreciate vBulletin.
Photos appear larger and for whatever reason look better.
I think the photos here are larger than vbulletin, at least thats been my minimal experience..... |

| Well, Vb looks first rate and I think the GUI is friendlier to the user. This site as it looks now is gray and looks like the second choice for Ridgeline owners. Change it to VB and bring back the journal/blog feature you had before the crash and I think you would be head and shoulders above the ROC. The blog feature allowed each user to kind of have their own little website with entries and pics etc. Why didn't you bring back the blog feature after the crash? |

What you can do is upload your photos to say "Photobucket.com" or similar and then just insert the IMG tag that they provide. It is a pretty sweet setup as you can create folders and also let people view whichever photos or slideshows you desire.
Examples
link to individual photo:
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q178/keith_757/2006%20Honda%20Ridgeline%20RTS/PA210001.jpg?t=1167331943
For the IMG tag...
I removed the leading"[" to show you what the IMG tag looks like. The second is the actual image inserted.

| Thanks for the tip, Keith. I'll see if I can master it. Your photo shows up extremely well. |

The familiar look and feel of vB to those that are already familiar with it. For instance, when I found a site for another (non-automotive related) area of interest of mine that uses vB, I not only found it very easy to register and log in but just as importantly, I was immediately able to navigate it comfortably. That enabled me to fit right in and participate right away.
If you want to look at a very large mature vB site, check http://www.Audiokarma.org/ . They have nearly 20,000 members. Of those, 35 members are celebrating their birthday today. As I write this there are 528 members and guests on line. That kind of snaps things into perspective, doesn't it? If what you see sparks an interest, sign in, log on, and enjoy! It's an amazing resource for information and is a great on line community too. |

There is no way to keep up on it all. |

| Also, VB has much better emoticons. The smiley faces here look more devious than happy. Though this one is exceptional:  |

second choice? ouch!
well its gray because ... i made it that way. tried to do the brushed metal look that honda had when it first introduced the ridgeline. every other forum site is blue..so i figured id make it different.
after the crash i upgraded to a new version. the blog was not compatible.
i dunno man. everyone wants vbulletin. i think this thing sometimes has more features than you might need, but for basic stuff like posting, pm'ing...is it really that hard? its not that different.
