I just don't get the LR lovefest that you guys had going at the other place and are trying to revive here. I was on ROC several times and found the lovefest a bit annoying, just my opinion, of course.

With all due respect Ridgeline2006, it wasn't a Love Parade (fest). It was a place where many people had the same thing in common and we all created friendships that will last far beyond an online forum. And as far as trying to revive it here, don't you like to be where your friends are? Where it's comfortable and you know your words will never be taken out of context and you will never be judged by the amount of money you do or don't have or the size house you live in, only the color truck you drive?? :wink:
It's really actually not annoying at all to have friends. But just my opinion of cousre. :)

I'm having a little trouble finding the old group hug pic... It may be on my old PC's hard drive. I'll have to fire it up to see. In the meantime, you can enjoy this equally disturbing group hug photo.... (I honestly don't know which is worse!)

Sounds to me you have never experienced true friendship or love if you find it "annoying". It has been said many times, if you have nothing positive to say, zip it up. BTW Her join date is Feb 1, '06. I would'nt say she was newbee. My original join date, as Tex's Ridge is October 5, 2005, three days after you did. The "lovefest" is because a lot of us related to LadyRidge in many ways, and mostly as a friend, at the ROC. Because she has decided to stop being active at her former home and decided to move here, has brought a lot of fresh membership in this forum So, excuse me for saying, that I find you annoying.

Well, there are a LOT of benefits in moving to NC, but we do seem to have a lot of "hat holders" with available space, JC.

Please understand the intent of this post - it is simply meant to explain and to rebut an unfriendly, unprovoked attack on me. I can't imagine why there's so much venom coming from those who profess to be full of love and friendship.

Interesting that you post a common adage -- and then violate it in the same post, twice! I might be annoying, but that's okay, I might have never experienced true love or friendship, either, but how would you know and who are you to call me annoying? I wasn't calling you or any of your friends annoying, I was just expressing my opinion. I guess if my opinion doesn't comport withy yours then I must be doing something wrong -- sorry, I'll do my best to conform my actions to more closely represent your position, not mine. Will that make me less annoying?

As for the newbie comment, I was just trying to be glib and wasn't making any comment on her acutal join date. Also, I joined well before the Oct. 05 date but there was a big crash and everyone had to re-up. However, none of that makes any difference unless you want some kudos for being a long-time member -- I'll be the first to congratulate you on that accomplishment...

I guess I need to understand that some topics are sacred and if I venture into that quagmire I should do so with the expectation of being called names. Oh, well! I can handle it.
