Hey,

I'm Jake. I'm glad to have found this site to share info. I'll introduce myself futrher later.

So, I think there may be some Underdrive pulleys available for the Ridgeline. Unorthodox Racing makes some pulleys for the Acura MDX up to 2005, I think.
The MDX is powered by a Honda 3.5 litre, and It may be the same as in the Ridgline.???

I'm gonna look into it.

I believe that the 2005 Acura MDX 3.5 liter v6 Underdrive Pulley kit made by Unorthodox Racing will work for the Ridgeline.
I've contacted the Pulley manf., and will fallow up with them.

If you're interested in extra+ Power for your Ridge, you may want to look into this aswell.

"The Ridgeline uses a five-speed automatic transmission and Honda's 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 from the Pilot/MDX, but tuned here to 255 horsepower and 257 pound-feet." http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup/112_0503_2006_honda_ridgeline/performance.html

"The 255-horsepower V6 with its 252 foot-pounds of torque and the five-speed automatic transmission and VTM-4 four-wheel drive system used in the Ridgeline were developed for and introduced in the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot sport utility vehicles."
http://www.izoom.com/2006hondaridgeline.html
"Power is supplied by the 3.5-liter V6 also found in the Ridgeline's platform mates,"http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2005/05/26/106997.html

[b]So, The 3.5 liter looks to be the same as the MDX. So, Pulleys for the MDX may indeed work.

So, I emailed UR. This is the reply I got. Not really what I was hoping for.
Hi Jake,

"We are not certain that the pulley(s) will fit, no fitment tests have been done. If you would like to find out if it does work, maybe your huge group would like to purchase a kit to spread out the money outlay and do a test fit."

Sincerely

Lo
I'm surprised that UR doesn't investigate this themselves to expand their MDX product to sell to Ridgeline owners.

No,

I've done this mod while also doing a Electric fan replacment of mechanical fan on my 03 F150. It increased Power. Best mod ever!

"constructicon wrote:
The basic function of underdrive pulleys is to decrease the amount of engine power used to power your power steering, a/c, and pretty much any accessory driven by the engine. They're also lighter, so that will also lessen the parasitic effects of turning the heavier pulleys. They'll also make your engine look purty, too.

But because now your accessories are spinning at a slower speed you will likely have a low voltage situation at idle and risk running out of power assist in your steering (both mostly only at low engine speeds)."

"I got the AEM underdrive pulley set and I dont know the exact numbers but it definitly didnt add any more than about 5-10 ponies. If you get a crank shaft pulley as well it will add about 5-10 on its own so if you get all of them its about 10 to 20 horses for about 250 bucks." http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-message?message_id=82916

I'd like to find out more too. If there are any cons. for this mod on this vehicle.

[google]
Great news! Who wants more power? Read below(emails from myself and Joe @ UR the maker of the underdrive Pulleys.

Joe,
Happy new year!

Yeah, that may be possible. I'll post it on our site and see if we have any takers. I myself am scared to be the "ginnie-pig". Like others, I don't want something to happen to my vehicle from this.
I'm surprised your company is'nt pususing this. It would be a whole new market your product is exposed too. Ridgelines are somewhat slugish, and many owners are looking for a real world performance mod that works.

Please keep me updated.
Take care
Jake

Well theres no real risk in testing out a crank pulley. If it fits the crank snout, if the timing marks are in the right degrees (if it even has timing marks), if all the belt sections are at their correct heights and locations, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. You engine is not going to grenade because the crank pulley was changed. It is not going to put any undue stress on it, actually will reduce stress because of the considerable weight advantage. Not like back in the day on those V8’s where a crank pulley was actually a dampner and did something more than run the belts.

Honestly we get emails like yours all the time, from all different internet forums that cater to a specific vehicles. They all think there is a big market and always wonder why we don’t make it for their specific vehicle. The reason is there is NOT enough interest, period. Yes, some maybe interested and some might want to invest but that’s it, some not the majority.

How bout this ask if anyone from your group is local to us and maybe we can take a look at it.

We would love if someone from your group tries it out. If it works out then great.Sincerely
Lo

The PULLEYS will Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just cross refrenced the parts numbers for the 2005 Acura MDX, and 2006 Ridgeline. THE CrankShafT PulleY's are the same.
The part number is: 13810-RJA-003

So, more power can be obtained from the existing product available from " Unorthodox Racing"

If/ and When I get my Ridgeline I will be all over some "real" power mods.
