| The RL forums search is what worked for me way back when. The 4wd, SUT thing seems to hide the site a bit. |

| Also, could the timing of your search when you first got your truck have happened at the same time as the crash of this site? I am not knowledgeable enough about how search engines prioritize their search results so anything that I guess would be just that. I think that you may be close though. I would also guess that activity and page hits would play a role. |

My search was well before the crash...es. I hadn't even bought and was doing research. "Ridgeline Forums" brought me here first and da udder place later.
Traffic here was pretty light while the ROC way heavier so I'm not sure about volume being a factor. |

In your case it must have been quality, not quantity that brought you here! |

I believe Google, and possibly other search engines, base the order of listings on the number of hit that site has received, so popularity is a major factor in rising to the top of the heap, |

I'm thinking if the opening line of the home page was to be rewritten to include certain key words, such as the words printed in bold below, our hit position on search sites would improve.
Welcome to our new, owner inspired, Ridgeline community. The Honda Ridgeline SUT Forum is the best and #1 place for Honda Ridgeline information. |

You may be thinking of meta tags, Pizza Man, which are on the home page but are not visible. They are just part of the HTML code. |

Webbie, you're talking way over my head. I have no clue about meta tags.
I just relating to my search experiences. I've found using different search words on the same search engine for the same type site changes the order in which the hits are displayed.
If you use multiple words in your search, the site who's home page contains the most matching words is displayed as the first hit. If the home page contains the most commonly used words when searching for a particular type of site then my guess would be it's most likely going to be high on the hit list. |

| Just Googled for Honda Ridgeline, Honda Ridgeline Reviews and Honda Ridgeline Information. Unfortunately this site did not show up in the first 5 pages of the first two searches, only when I did the last one did it show up and that was on page 2. I know when I first started searching for information on the RL before I purchased it, the only site I found with owner info was the ROC and it still shows on the first page of all of the above searches. I wonder if a name change would not help increase the membership in this site. I think that most people when they first start doing research on the web do not go very often past the first page or two of the search findings. Just my .02  |

you know this site used to be #1 out of all ridgeline forums on google before the attack.
you know how you increase your rank on google? have people link to your site.
so if anyone wants to help out. put a link in text to Honda Ridgeline 4wd on the front page of your website |
