Well... things have been REALLY CRAZY around here the last few days...
While trying to get my son off to his first semester at VFCC (near Philly), we came across the fact that his car wasn't inspected! I know... shame on me!
Had to "call in a few favors" to get everything taken care of in short order, including the tires which were like new this summer.
There was even a time when I thought I'd be making the trip there in my RL, as there was NO WAY that I'd let him drive an un-inspected vehicle, especially into "foreign" territory.
But I (with the help of some good friends) managed to pull it off, and got him on his way. He should be arriving there in a couple hours...
If I'm able to get some time-off work around spring break (mid-late March), it would be nice to meet-up with any of you Northeastern RL'rs that might be available... I'm NOT good at planning an "official" meet, and wouldn't expect this to be a "formal" thing, but IF I'll be coming out yer way, I'll be sure to give at least a week's notice so that we might be able to have a little "mini-meet" for lunch or drinks or whatever. Even just to spend an hour or so, linking some faces to the many posts and experiences that we've shared would be cool. 8)
Whatayunz guy/gals think? Just wondering if this would be a possibility?
Sorry I'm so clueless about the timing... "spontaneity" has always been listed highest on my calling card... (or was that "procrastination"?)... heh-heh!

Hey Pug,
There was some talk between myself, Ultra-Hog and Pizza Man about a spring meet, possibly in Gettysburg Pa. It may include a one nite stay, say a saturday nite.
Just talk at this point. We'll have to get Pizza Man the premier Event Planner in on this....... |

| Yet another possibility, not necessarily instead of, but in addition to a Gettysburg meet, could be a meet near Grove City, PA just North of Pittsburgh near the Ohio/PA line. There is an outlet mall on I-70 just south of I-80 and a Quaker Steak and Lube not too far away. The outlet mall would give folks a destination and a place to walk around fo a while before dinner. There are probably some other atractions in the area as well. That location would be easily accessable to a lot of people in PA, Ohio, West Verginia, and Maryland. That is also the place where I met LadyRidge for the first time! :) |

I'm sorry guys, I feel a little out of the loop and its my own fault. I'm in such a fog lately. I have a lot going on personally at this time, but things will ease out shortly.
Pug, I think you looking for a meet to coincide with your son's spring break. I'm assuming your son is in Valley Forge? If so, that's probably the easiest of mini-meets to handle. ONDLINKS and I are not far from Valley Forge, maybe 45 minutes or so. Mugenpwr may also be available for that. He lives in York, Pa.
If were talking of a Spring Meet on a grander scale then now is the time to start getting some thoughts together. I don't think we would be able to put together a Spring Meet on the same scale as the October, Cape May Meet. I'm still thinking of a "major" Meet in the September, October time frame.
Let's use this thread to gather some ideas about a Spring Meet and I'll later formulate a poll. |

Hope "the fog" lifts soon for ya, Joe... it's those foggy days we sometimes have to suffer through that make the brighter days so glorious!
You were correct in your assumption - yes, Josh is attending Valley Forge in Phoenixville, this semester being his first. Come spring break, I may be visiting before he returns home for a short time.
I'd also be interested in something "on a grander scale" like a full-fledged "Spring Meet", with an "inactive role" in organizing it, because of my always uncertain work schedule. sorry.
I "managed" to get to a local meet where I met-up with some ACTIVE members (U-H, LR,KDoJ,etc...) and that remains the only meet I've had the opportunity to attend.
Heh-heh! Great timing! My son just called to let me know that he arrived there! Said it was a sunny drive the whole way there! Hope that's an "omen" of the way things will remain...
PizzaMan, a poll sounds like a good idea... this part of the forum seems "underused", so it might have to be placed "outside of this NE thread area", to get any "hits"? I dunno... I'm still a "newbie" here.
Good to hear from you guys! I try to be available for the 10pm EST shoutbox gatherings, but keep getting sidetracked! Too bad that shoutbox thing isn't available on ALL the pages in the forum, so we could "keep in touch", and have "instant notification" as we browse the threads!
take care,

For the few of us in this club with duel status, I am planning the 2ND Annual SoCal ROC meet. This is what I posted on the other site....
Happy New Year everyone,
I am planning the 2ND annual SoCal ROC Meet. I would like to hold it the same weekend as last year! Saturday, March 17, 2007 (which is also St Patrick's Day if you are Irish). I know if all that came last year and the members that we have gained since that time come out, we can blow the national meet record, which they beat us by 1 owner, out of this hemisphere!
I will post lodging info if you would like to make a whole weekend of it later but for now the plan is to take a poll of who is interested in coming and bold enough to commit to it now! I AM! We could also meet at the Saturday morning Auto Show in Irvine for coffee from 7:00 to 9:00 if you care too?
From there, we will meet for the photo op at Capistrano State Beach on PCH at 10:00 Saturday morning then drive ,in trail, to Dana Point Harbor for the impromptu Ridgeline Truck Show and eat. I will be asking my usually partners to assist in anything we can do to make it more fun than the last time. BRING YOUR TALK ABOUTS FOR THE CARAVAN!
Please vote the poll and post any suggestions you may have. This is a regional meet and greet but if you are passing through, come on down and join the fun. All Ridgeline Owners are welcome!
Note: I am copying this post to the correct area - Dave |

| If you guys are planning something for Pittsburg way, then us here in the Northeast/New England would call that the eastern central US or just east of the Missippi. Pittsburg is 8 hours from here. I'm hoping for something closer. |

Hi wb1dby, the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions are a bit confusing to me. Pa is considered to be in the Northeast on this site, I consider it to be more like Mid-Atlantic. For planning Meets it's difficult for the New Englanders to join in with us Pa guys because of the distances involved and the potential traffic problems coming through New York.
If you have a location that would be convenient to both our locations I'm up for it. Let me know what you have in mind. I'm in the process of developing a poll for date and location and need all the input I can get.
PM me. |

| There may be some confusion that is coming from conversations about 1-day mini-meets that naturally tend to be more regional. We, present company included, should be careful to specify when information is posted if it is about a mini-meet or is intended for larger multi-day events like Pizza Man put together in Cape may New Jersey last year. Larger events deserve their own thread and unique title without the clutter and confusion that mini-meets can create for them. |
