Well, everyone, I just wanted to pass on a very temporary goodbye. I will be flying out tomorrow for my home state of Michigan to visit some family. I'll be gone a couple weeks, back to work by the 9th of April. Internet connection being what is is at my father's house (26K dial-up! :shock: ), I may not get on the site much to say hello or change my avatar (I know you all wait breathlessly to see what I'll put up next!).
I sure wish I could drive my Ridge to Michigan, but time constraints force me to fly this trip. Maybe someday soon, but this trip will definitely be on silver wings. I hope you all stay connected and enjoy the meets that are coming up, and I'll try to post a couple pics when I get back.
Take care of each other!

| Have a great trip, Dave. We will be heading for Michigan on April 10 for my dad's 99th birthday and we will be taking the RL. We usually take our folding trailer, but we are going the motel route this time. First long trip in the RL without the trailer, so I am interested to see what the highway mileage will be. No computer hookup at all at my dad's home and he still has pulse dialing. If we get desperate, we can always find a McDonald's and use their WiFi. |

| It will be nice and cool the next couple weeks. I hope it warms up for your trip. I figure if I get real desperate, I'll find an internet cafe or hit the library. But I think I'm going to be pretty busy, anyway. |

Dave;
Where in Michigan are you going to be visiting ? If you'll be in the south western part of the state, maybe we could meet for coffee. Hope you see this before you fly out. |

It's a great idea JC, but I don't think we can manage it this time. Because of commitments here, we can't leave until the 10th and we need to spend a few nights at my sister's in Iowa and be at Dad's by the 16th. When we leave we will be heading to Niagara Falls thru Port Huron and then heading north. We hate I80 with a passion, so driving it one way is one too many but we do need to see my sister and niece and her family. |

Well, I know I havn't posted much this week, but I have been back in town since last Saturday night. I really enjoyed my stay in Michigan, even though my last week there was back to winter tempoeratures and SNOW! :shock:
I took over 350 pictures, which I won't bother to post here, but am posting a couple for you to see.
I would also like to mention that while I was there, I rented a Hyundai Tuscon, which is a mini-ute with 4WD. While it is no Ridgeline, it proved to be very capable in the mud and snow. It is light, and has plenty of power with its V6, and it was low enough so that my 86 year-old grandmother was able to get in and out without a struggle, yet it provided plenty of clearance. I'll be honest and say I wouldn't run out and buy one, but as a rental for a couple weeks, it was not a bad ride. Look for an upcoming review in the comparisons forum. |
