Ok so I have really been shopping for a good price on a new one. I actually see some dealers asking 2-3,000 over MSRP (27,800 for RT base)
Now I have seen some Silver RT for around low 25k to mid 26k range, why are some dealers asking less for a silver color and more for another color? Is silver not desireable? I myself would rather have black but is it fair I should have to pay premium or way over MSRP, what the heck? Hell if I go in I'm going to ask for lower price and hold my ground. That's why they are called dealerships right? I will keep you all informed. :)

| Krez, have you tried internet bidding? In my opinion it's the only way to buy a new vehicle. You don't deal with a salesman. but only with the internet magager. They get one shot to give you their best price and you can get multiple bids with a few clicks of your mouse. I have purchased four vehicles this way and have always gotten really good deals. |

You know I did this when my wife and I purchased the CR-V. I agree you can get a much better price on which we did very well off MSRP. But none of the dealerships around here are not quoting online. I'm not sure why?

OK I have received a quote for 3% over invoice including the destination fee. 26,544.00 less tax and license. This seems like a very good deal. I will go on a test drive this Saturday. This one is the Steel Blue Metallic RT base model. Wish me luck! :)

Krez, I just checked things out on Edmunds and the price you're stating is $200 above invoice. Edmunds also states there are no incentives or marketing support available for the Ridgeline. It seems odd to me, but I haven't been watching pricing trends since I bought mine a year ago.
If I was going to offer any advise it would be to wait until Monday and see if there are any April incentives. |

You are right Pizza Man. I think that is a question I'm going to ask them tomorrow. |

Here's some pretty interesting info i lifted...
Ridgeline and Element sales seem to be off about 15-20% over already fairly slow sales same period last year. The Pilot seems to be off 7%. Discounts of about $7000-7500 on the Pilot weren't uncommon last August.
http://www.hondanews.com/categories/1097/releases/3901
Don't know if the table on the url prints out. Rest of Honda sales are ok though.
6k off wasn't uncommon last summer on the RL so its probably the time to be getting it.
For those of you fence sitters, perhaps hitting 10-20 dealers via Email end of March for bids will shakeout 2 or 3 willing to discount 6-7k depending on model. Possibly even the Navi. (The dealers hold on to them for a bit more) See how far you can push it. March is the end of the fiscal quarter for some companies too.
FYI about 40% of production is in Silver so if you include it as a color option it may grow on you if one saves $1500 or so.
$7000 off an RTS is about the best I've ever read of (true price, no trade or dealer options)
The Pilot and RL both wholesale used for about 10k off list 1st year, so even with 6k off, they are hardly giving them away. So keep things in perspective.
And gas is approaching $3.00 again.
Happy Hunting
Only about 20% or so of production are the Res or Navi models, and the dealers like to hold on to them for a bit more money. That means you may work a good deal for 5800 off a RTL or RTS and only 4800 or so off a Navi. |

Good points, Otter.
This time last year $1K below invoice was the norm. That's the deal I was offered and grabbed it. Later into the summer months $1500 and I even think up to $2K were common. |

Congrats Krez.
I am certain you will enjoy your Ridgeline as much today as you will 2 years from now. I celebrated 2 years with Ridgena on March 2 and she has 69,576 miles on her and I STILL feel like I just bought her.
Can't wait for pictures.
Drive safe and welcome!! |
