Hi Al,
I Used both the K&N filters (Dropin replacement and Intake).
The Dropin Replacement Filter only gives more air flow into the system very little gas mileage improvement.
The Intake unit give more air with less restriction and a few more horsepower on the middle to upper end of the scale. Gas mileage get you a few more mileage per fill up. Sound nice with a good after market exhaust. |

Blinglights now has there brand new intakes out. We have done several installs already on the Acura MDX and achieved a range from 5-10 Horsepower, and also a noticeable increase in torque.
Please PM me for details, and orders. |

Al,
I have used K&N in the past and did not see any significant gains in gas mileage or power. If you go the re-usable "wash and oil" filter route just be careful not to over oil it after washing it. That can cause you problems in the intake system. I do not plan on using a reusable filter in my Ridgeline... |

| Many believe because there is more air passing through these types of filters, there is more dirt as well. For 5 or 10 horse I'll go with OEM. |

I'm looking on the internet for the best price for a 'drop in'. We are only buying because the 'regular' cost of a Honda filter....makes us believe that the $30 bucks we spend on a 'washable' K&N will save us a few pennies.
We are not buying into the 'hype' of added mileage, etc.
The only 'fact' my husband is interested in, is being able to wash and rinse the filter and use it for it's lifetime, then move on.
sorry I can't give you any hard numbers to go on.
And I hate to be such a darn cynic (and I'm a jaded one too). But, I'm in the Advertising business, and the stuff 'we' tell you is pushed to the limit. |
