I'm lucky enough to be able to access our Forum multiple times a day during working hours. All weekend long my home computer is left on and generally tuned into the Forum. Click here, click there and I can visit just to see what's going on.

For hours at a time the Forum is so lonely I may as well pick up my phone and call my wife to shoot the breeze! This is not intended to be a slam against R4wd. I'm especially thankful this Forum is available to me.

I've decided to start this thread to serve as a Diary if you will. When nothing is going on I'll add a few thoughts or describe what's going on in my life. If anyone wants to join in you're more than welcome. I thought I'd give myself something to do while I'm waiting for company.

I'm like you, I "check in" a few times a day, and I find it kinda slow again. But that's OK, we are here, and we do eventually all catch up on our blogging. But think, the more time we are sitting at our PC's, the less time we are driving our Ridgelines! Unless, of course, you are using WiFi! Don't blog and drive!

I'll answer for U-H, I don't think he'll mind. The Shout Box is located at the bottom of the "Forum" page. It serves as a chat room. If you decide to join into an ongoing conversation remember to "Refresh" often. New text doesn't automatically pop up. You type in your text, hit "Go" and wait for a reply. You won't see the reply until you "Refresh" or type in a new text line and hit "Go" again.

Preparing for my boss's Birthday Party. It's Friday night at a good restaurant in town. It's his 70th. He's the owner of the business and I'm his right hand man. Working past his 70th B-Day. I guess there's no hope of retirement in my future. :( He's a great guy and good to work for. He treats me extremely well. We've been together for over 25 years.

He's throwing his own party. Only people attending are his wife, son and daughter, their spouses and Jeanette and I. Pretty exclusive gathering. 8)

He says no gifts. I picked him up a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue. That is one expensive bottle of booze, shame I don't like Scotch.

I'm currently writing a letter to put into his card. It's not my intention, but it will make him a little misty-eyed. I hope he doesn't read it at dinner.

I finished the letter to my Boss today. This will be the first time in 25 years that I expressed my feelings to him. Not that I haven't mouthed off over the years, but this expresses my fondness and admiration. He's really quite a guy. Love him like a brother!

I knew you were a old softy at heart. Your boss sounds like a great guy to work for. Good luck with your dinner tomorrow. Sounds like you'll have a wonderful time. 8)

I think what makes working for him so good is he trusts my judgement. Let's me pretty much run the show while he plays Soduku.

What a day this has been. Busy at work, then took an extended lunch to hit the bank then off to the car wash to get the Pizza Wagon washed. Tomorrow is the day my Retrax will be installed. My buddy, ONDLINKS is dropping by in the morning to lend a hand.

ONDLINKS tells me he is installing a new mod on his RL today. He's being secretive about what it is, though. I wonder.... could it be fog lights, edge guards, maybe a Bull Guard. Just have to wait until tomorrow, I guess.

Rainy day in Los Angeles today, and I drove my Ridgeline to work. If it had been sunny, I would have driven the converible. I am also lamenting the fact that $50.00 only buys me 15 gallons of Regular gas. At least my Ridge is a very safe ride in the rain.

Well into the $3.00 a gallon range, bummer Big Dave! :( Here in Pa regular is going for around $2.60. We'll be over $3 by Memorial Day, I'm sure.

$3.299 to be exact. It is a bummer. If I fill up at 225 miles, I use 15 gallons (of course, there are minor fluctuations); 15 MPG average. I can't even tell you waht my converible gets, I havn't even gone through my first tank of gas. The weather has been too bad or I have been out of town. Soon, though.

Our experts are saying $4.00 by Memorial Day. It seems to be going up abouut .10 - .15 per week.

My Ridge actually got 24.6 mpg for a short 200 mile stint, coming back from up north last weekend. Had a slight tail wind and I was on a back road, so I kept it right on 60 mph. I don't usually fill up when it is still over 1/2 full, but I came across a station with a really good price.

That's encouraging, Waterbug. The best I've ever monitored was 21.3 mpg. I don't check it all of the time because my mpg's are generally low due to my driving habits. Short trips of 2 miles or less. Truck barely warms up.

I'm really happy today.

Dan, ONDLINKS, came over this morning and helped me install my new Retrax. I really like the look of it. Helps give the truck a more finished appearance.

I said I would takes photos of the install, but once we got into it I forgot. Dan suggested photos afterward and in retrospect, we should have.

I'll post our experiences and impression of the installation procedure on the Retrax Thread.

I'm installing a Bimini top on my boat today :D . I like the bed of the truck open because I usually move from it to the tongue of my boat trailer, when launching or retrieving. Any bed cover would just be another thing to get in the way and have to be dealt with.

Understood Waterbug, but should the need arise for a covered bed the Retrax is probably the easiest of the covers to slide out of the way.

That being said, I'd love to see some photos of the boat. I had one few years back, sold it with the intention of buying larger, but never got around to it. Sad, I live two blocks from the Delaware River and half a mile from a boat launch. My father-in-law has a riverfront property with a dock and my mooring is still available to me.
