I am working on a draft of a ridgeline4wd.com brochure that members can print and leave at their dealership and to distribute to potential new members as a recruiting tool. I need a paragraph or two to briefly describe the site since it first began as well as where it is heading. Ideally this should be written by admin, a moderator or a very early member that has had the perspective to observe the growth and the trends. I don't intend to be the editor of this portion of the brochure, just the person that makes it physically fit. The brochure will be designed so that it can be changed and updated easily so the more submissions the better.

If anyone has graphics and publication skills, please speak up. I am strictly an amateur and am volunteering to work on this brochure because no one has done it so far and I think we need one. I welcome any and all help that you can offer.

"Input! More Input!"

(That's a line by "Number 5" from the movie Short Circuit.)

Just kidding around, of course.

A few lines of content will be helpful. Then, when I have cobbled together something that hopefully will resemble a brochure, I can send it so that it can be cleaned up and given a more professional look than I can put together. My idea is to post something that can be modified easily by members to personalize it for their own use as a recruiting tool. The same for a business card size template using commonly available blank business card stock (or simple heavy paper stock) that will be easy for members to print and keep in their glove compartment or console / armrest lid.

Not having any experience with R4wd's early days, the only "story" I can offer hasn't happened yet. Perhaps the Spring Meet may turn out to be a suitable addition to the brochure. Maybe even a photo or two.

Well, I think we all can agree that by being on this site, we've all learned new and good information on the truck; as documented by owners themselves.
We've learned about gas mileage issues/problems/concerns, some of the early production issues that plagued early buyers, we've seen new changes in the 07 models, and helped new members get the best deals on the trucks by just coming to the site.

5 years ago, none of this would really have been possible; nor would anyone have 'thought' at owners of 'like vehicles' would want to meet and 'chat' on line about them. The internet really opened all this up.

These are the new on-line communities....and they come in every flavor, color and hobby. We've met and had BBQ's, offered up advice, encouraged one another and at times, gotten a bit peaved with some remarks and comments here on the board. But, this is human nature and the beauty of this is: we're from all over the USA and Canada!

I was thrilled to locate a site where I could both ask questions about the truck, read all the previous content on what others had gone through the trouble of posting, and LEARN from all this.
I could also post my personal experiences on the Ridgeline...and have a receptive (or not so receptive) audience. So, I'm also 'teaching' others as well.
No where else can you go today than to this and other on-line forums ...that is FREE, easy, and has nice folks to help you out...regardless what what some call 'stupid questions' about your Honda Ridgeline.

So, I don't have a specific story about this site...but maybe you can mine some of the above.

PS: I will give credit to another RL site...that really helped me get some great information about the truck before we purchased.
My salesman was SOOOOO impressed with my knowledge base, and the printouts I took to the sale...he wanted to know ASAP where I had gotten the information. Then, he signed on with his Manager's approval to lurk, learn, and offer great deals on the truck. That goes to show you the POWER of a good on-line car/truck site.
