I'm going to call it Long Island Winery tour Meet 2007.
Date: Oct 6,7 or 13,14 or 20,27
I would vote for the 13,14 weekend, The 27th is to closet to Halloween. It gets a little nuts out here.
Information: There are about dozen winery's on the north fork, Some have ET and all have wine tasting. I will look into a nice place to eat and hotels for the out of towners.
If anyone out there would like to help me out on this meet, I would like that.
If you never went to meet. it's a lot of fun. You will make new friends and see you truck with different styles. And it's great to travel together in caravan.
Look at picture from the Mid- Atlantic Spring meet. |

I'm with you Allan, Oct 13-14 suits me just fine. I think you should keep all the posting for the Meet in the Northeast Forum and announce it in the Mid-Atlantic like you did. Keeping all the posts confined to a single thread will make it easier to keep track of everything.
Knowing I'm going to be there, you may want to call it the "Wino" tour.
Anything you need, just ask. |

I just got back from the Wine Country. I confirmed the winery tour at Martha Clara. Starting at 12:30 PM, Oct 13. The only problem I'm having is a place to stay, nearby. No luck in Riverhead. About 20 minutes before the winery, I found a Comfort Inn, in Medford and the rate start at $109 and up. I think this would work good. I'm also looking into Charlie Brown's Steakhouse for Sat night dinner.

Comfort Inn, 2695 RT 112, Medford, L.I. 631 654 3000. (OCT 12 - 14)I just called the hotel and ask for a discount rate and I got it. $99.90 per night. When you call, tell them, your are from the Ridgeline Club and if there a problem, ask for Mr. JT.
Charlie Brown's is next door.
Please Book early. and post your days you book at the hotel |

| Great News: I spoken to the GM at Comfort Inn and block out 10 Rooms for the Club, for Oct 12 and 13. When you call them, just tell them your, from the Ridgeline Club and would like to book a room. Same price for one night or two nights booking. If need be, I can block more rooms. |

When I made my reservation they told me that traditionally the weekend of the 13th-14th is very busy. I recommend we book early, folks. |

Note: I just added 8 more rooms for us. That would make 18 rooms total.
Please call the Comfort Inn ASAP. I would like to see no one shut out on this meet. Yes, we do party at night too. |

Four months to go and we already have the makings of a fine group. So far ONDLINKS, MDWalls, Tbird, alsridgeline and myself are signed on. Croutons tells me he's coming, that will make six. mugnpwr mentioned coming, I've PM'd cwsatterley and JerseryRidge.
Some of the New Englanders have expressed an interest, hopefully they'll be able to make it and really boost the truck count.
Allan if you like, I can start the attendee roster and keep it maintained for you. |

This the plans:
Oct 12, Early check in at Comfort Inn and you are on your own for dinner and things to do.
Oct 13, I thinking there is a free breakfest
11:00am, meet in parking lot. Caravan to the winery.
12:30pm meet at Martha Clara winery
(I'm thinking of ordering a 6 foot or 2 heros with salads for lunch. this would make is easy for all and we can split the course of it.)
I would say, it should end about 3 or 4pm.
Go back to to the Hotel and take a swim or whatever. lolo
Dinner at Charlie Browm 6:30pm
Sunday: Have Breakfest and say goodbye.
This is only a draft, and can change. |

| I can't tell you guys, how important it is to book early, because if you don't you may not get a room. I have 13 room left and if it not booked by us, it will be rebooked by the hotel. |

I agree Allan, I was reading on the other site about how busy Long Island is in the early Fall and that room availability is difficult at best. Even if you're just considering attending, book a room. Like they said over there, it costs nothing to reserve a room.
Croutons, now is the time to reserve. |
