Second service at 11,000 miles. The bill came to $280 for an oil change and differential service (in addition to supposedly checking everything). Seemed rather steep to me. Comments?
Thanks,
Mike

| It does seem a bit steep alright. Mine cost $98.40 without a tire rotation. I get those free. |

I went in for my B6 service at 9900 miles and all the dealer did was an oil change. Said I didn't need the differential service yet because I don't tow. Naturally, I got away cheap.
What do you guys think about the dealer's advice? |

Are you sure the MM said B6? B6 calls for a differential fluid change, but if you don't tow, it shouldn't have come on that early. For towing, Honda recommends changing at 7,500 miles initiallly and then every 15,000 miles. |

| It definitely read B6, Webbie. That's why I asked the dealer about not doing the differential change. I'm at 50% on the MM and wonder what code I'll get when it's due again. |

| Then I would get it changed at the next oil change, Pizza Man. Maybe it is programmed to do the first one fairly early due to break in of the plates. |

That does sound quite steep! I had the B6 service done at 12,200 miles. I was charged $159. It included the oil & filter change, VTM-4 service, tire rotation, and of course like you said "supposedly checking everything". Although on my service invoice it does list the tire tread depth, and the thickness of the front & rear brake pads. |

msachen,
I just had my second service (B-6 @ 15,145 miles) last Monday. They first quoted me almost $200 for the service. They showed me a long list of things they recommended they do including "checking this and that". I asked them to only do the oil and filter change, the VTM service and rotate the tires. I was in and out in under an hour and paid $116. They even honored an expired oil change coupon for 10% off. |

At 10,000 the B6 came up and all I did was change the oil, filter and tire rotation.
At 15,000 I bought the VTM fluid, Which only comes in one gallon. $20.00 from the dealer. I also bought a oil filter and oil, $20.00
Next, I brought it to Infiniti dealer, that I'm very friendly with and had the work due for at sum $50.00 and forget to tell them to rotate the tires.
Total sum: $90.00 and I have 2qt. on VTM fluid left. |

| Mine says b6 now so I'm going to do my own diff oil change and see how it goes. |

| I just got my diff fluid replaced today. It was $85. they said they flushed the diff and replace the fluid. This was the first diff change and was it neccessary to flush ? I know the next time I will just have the fluid changed and it will cost $39 including fluid. Anyone have a comment on the flush ? |

| I don't know about the flush, but $85 seems a bit steep but not out of line with what I've been hearing. $39 on the other hand sounds like a pretty darn good deal! Wait, you're talking Canadian Dollars, right? That's even a better deal than I first thought, and now the $85 doesn't sound quite so bad either (should be a bit under $80USD at that rate). |

| 11.2k miles ... told them to change the oil and filter and change the VTM fluid ... 83.00 ... told them I wasn't paying for them to check anything. |

| Mine's now got 52,000 miles on it and the b6 is rearing it's ugly head again! Guess it's time to stop at the dealership again for some overpriced service, or I guess I could do it myself in the driveway! |
