A newbie needs GPS help - Garmin Nuvi360

Hello! This might sound like a crazy question but here goes - I purchased a Garmin Nuvi360 to use in my new 08 RidgeLine. When it turns on it tells me that the latest maps loaded are 2005. I followed all the prompts I received to check for software updates etc. on the Garmin site and it tells me that I have all the latest updates. Am I missing something? Is there a place to upload new maps? My daughters house is in a new 2 year old subdivision and it is not in the map database. When I drove to the Blackfalds arena on Saturday which is not new, it could not identify the street address. Are there other maps I have to purchase? How often does Garmin update it's map data base. I have tried contacting them but so far they haven't answered a single email and I am getting a bit frustrated.
Any comments, hints, answers, directions would be most appreciated.

You can go here and check for map updates. The latest version is 8.
