I'm curious if anybody here has put the honda leather seat coverings into the RTX truck?

I'd really like to have leather, but my parents bought me the RTX as my 43rd birthday/christmas present and it comes as Im sure you all are well aware, the cloth/velour seats.

I work for honda dealers as an independant warranty administrator so I get the parts at cost +10 so buying the RTL's leather seat coverings would be affordable but Im wondering if anybody else has already done this, and if so how do you like the end result? Did the seats come out tight, or loose and baggy? Anything else you would care to say about it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I guess you could, you would have to make sure it wouldn't affect the seat airbags. I am going to order the wet okole seat covers for my rtx, I have heard nothing but great things about these seat covers and are worth every penny, they are specifically designed for the ridgline seats and airbags. check out there website. www.wetokole.com.

they may not be leather but they are first class seat covers and look good also.

I havn't used seatcovers since real sheepskins were the "IN" thing to use. But even though I might have spent $200 to $500 on the set of sheepskins, they would inevitably start to bunch up and no longer hold the shape of the seat they were put on.

The lesser expensive seatcovers (like what you can buy down at the local autoparts store) that I've tried have never really attached well to the seats in that everytime I would get out of the vehicle the seatcovers would slide around a bit and need to be re tucked into the crevice between the seat and the back rest. From looking at the Okole website it appears they are still using the traditional method of straps to hold the seat covers in place.

This photo shows the Okole seatcovers installed in a ridgeline:

After looking at the photo of the seatcovers installed I know I'd never be happy with them when paying $275.00 for them. For me to be happy with a $275.00 set of seatcovers they would have to look like they were not seatcovers at all, but it's obvious by this photo that they look like seatcovers and though they would be bought to protect a vehicles real seats, it kind of defeats the purpose to me if the seatcovers don't look as good as the real seats since I want to enjoy the truck completely and not have it be like my grandmothers house where she would cover the furniture in plastic so that she could sell the furniture later without any stains in it.

Areas in the photo that bother me are:
1 Headrest seam seems bunched up
2 Leg area on seat cushion has a seam that would irritate the bag of my legs when wearing shorts I think.
3 Bunching and seam on passenter side would irritate the better halfs legs too I think.
4 Really hate the way the fabric overlays the hard plastic of the seat and would annoy me everytime that I saw this seam even if it were tucked under the plastic.
5 My guess is this is a new installation and there is already wrinkles in the fabric which IMO will only get worse as they are used more and the fabric stretches.
6 Typical to most seatcovers, on the backrest they stick away from the actual contour of the seatback, sure when you sit in it you still have it between you and the seat and it stretches to then contour the seat but it doesn't look good IMO.

Do you have a life? I wish my parent bought me a truck. You should have been nicer to them and they may have bought you the nicer model with your leather seats.

Oh I see. So this forum is one of those forums where if someone doesn't agree with you then you resort to personal insults and attacks huh?

It's now no longer a wonder to me why this forum is so dead compared to many of the other Ridgeline forums.

That's really sad on your behalf that you need to resort to insults when someone doesn't agree with something that you wish to buy and think are okay for you, really really sad.

I think I'd rather spend my time at forums where people don't have to resort to this childish insults.
