Ok, I bought a Ridge several months back and LOVE it! Recently I tried to raise the rear seats to put some christmas presents in and the seat lever had no tension on it. The seat is stuck in the down position. I took it to my honda dealer and they looked at it and said the part they needed was on national back order, it could take 2 weeks or more before they can get the piece to fix the seat.
I have seen some other posts on this board where people had the seats replaced when this same issue happened.
Very disappointing that my new truck already has a defect, and since the part is on national back order I'm thinking it's a larger problem. facing other Ridge owners. |

| I tried to vote "Yes", but it wouldn't let me. My seats lock and retract, but the support leg on the larger seat stays extended when the seat is up. It is a nuisance but not noticeable when the seat is down. :(. |

| I thought one of the rear seats was broken until I figured out something that I had stored under the seat was restricting it...moved the restriction and it worked fine. |

| Make sure you are pulling the lever all the way up. I put my german shepherd back there with seats up and its perfect. |

| If I don't put the seats down very securely, the next time I go to unlatch them they won't release. When that happens all I have to do is push down on the seat then pull the lever...always has worked so far. |

I will look tommorw when at work on the back order . I have not seen any broken yet. Dealer should be able too do whats called a cbo on the part. Honda has a group of people who only work on finding parts instock from any dealer that might be willing too sell that part. The parts person just needs a vin # and does whats called a controlled order on that part with the vin.
I do it all the time on back ordered parts and also help out other dealers all the time.

| all they need to do is send an urgent order, then upgrade it to a critical order. honda is excellent about finding parts like that. and at times if that part is not available separate, the will send an whole assembly that has it included. but some people are just to lazy to follow thru. but i have never seen or heard of this being a problem |

| Yep, there is a problem with the rear legs sticking. Bought my RTS when they hit the lot. Have had mine 3+ years and only 24K miles. Love my Ridgeline and have had zero problems until now. There are 2 plastic pulleys (1 each seat) that hold a tension wire that enables the locking and release of the legs. My small seat stuck with the legs open first and a week or 2 later the larger seat broke. The dealer opened up and found both of the pulleys were cracked in half. Really odd because I don't use the levers or the seats very often - usually keep in upright position. I'm over my warranty by 3 months (timing is everything!) so the dealer is only able to meet me with 1/2 cost of repair which is an entire assy. - the wheels cannot be repaired alone. There is no way to predict this unfortunately for the rest of y'all because there is no hint of a problem until it happens. Reported to Honda national so documentation of problem is registered. Will return with many happy experiences later. |

I guess your back seat must not get much use. :) (Not as young as you use to be). Mine's been broken for months and my Ridge only has 32K miles on it. When my lease is over, I'm going to turn it in with the seats down. Hopefully it won't be noticed. I think that it is a design flaw, because the seats have only been put down a dozen times. We usually keep them up and haul coolers and totes up north with the space. |
