| I have owned my truck for a while I just starting to hear alot of road noise. Is it possible that something shifted. Has anyone else experienced the same problem. My truck is an RTS 06 |

I recently had a stuck rear brake caliper on my '06. It starts out as increased road noise but gets worse. If you catch it early, it's just a set of brake pads. If you let it go, it will score the brake disc.
Yours could be something else. Just relating my recent experience.
EDIT: I notice that you live in Jersey. Areas where the use salt and/or sand on the roads in the winter are more prone to the brake issue. |

I recently replaced the stock LTX tire with Michelin Cross Terrain tires, and I have to tell you that the road noise is dramatically less. But if you are suddenly hearing a lot of tire noise, get your alignment checked. After 60K, I had mine done and they found it was a little off. Not bad enough to chew up a set of tires, but enough to add to the noise.
If you have the truck checked out and nothing mechanical is causing the excessive noise, there is one sure cure: turn up the volume on the stereo! :lol: |

| i added the roof rack and that added some noise as well but i moved the foward rail back about 6 inches and reduced the noise - still a quiet truck |
