Last year Tony aka Toobuku asked me to pick a location for this years meet, he wanted me to pick a location that would cut my travel time for a change. I only picked on place up here because I really do not think the end of September is a good time to have a meet here because it is the beginning of our rainy season and the chance of it raining is pretty good. I initially picked Sutters Buttes and after some input, I decided to pick ten places and place them in a poll, so far there are eight choices for Yosemite and one for Pismo Beach.

I started the poll, but I do not know how to get to it to vote. I voted on Yosemite, but it does not show. I guess I will have to ask the moderator for assistance.

I think that you have to go to the poll page to open the polls for voting, I am not sure though.

I fixed the poll. If you set up a poll, you have to tell it how many selections you want everyone to have. If you leave it at 0, it will not allow anyone to select an option.

I am not sure how it's going to work out timing-wise for me yet. I may be in Michigan at this time and will have to miss yet another California meet. If I'm here, I don't mind driving to Yosemite, but I have voted for Pismo for two reasons:

1) There are plenty of rooms available and we won't have to make reservations six months in advance for those of us that don't know what the schedules will be like come September, and

2) It really was a blast driving my Ridgeline right out onto the beach and playing around in the sand. I can imagine how much more fun it will be with a whole line of them.

And besides, for some of us, all I have to say is dinner at the Madonna Inn, and that would be enough to draw us there....

Keep us posted!

Hmmmm I am wondering if those who have joined this site in the past check it for new updates. Maybe an E-mail sent to all who have registered on this site as a reminder about the CAL. meet & voting on it. This might trigger a few more responses / reminder to some who become busy in the daily grind of life! Just a thought though. :D

On Google Earth I have all the ridgeline owners club members that have their zip code listed in a thread on the roc, thumbtacked in my favorites. That is not all the roc members , rl4wd or myridge. Just the roc members listed for California came to 96 members and of those 56 were open to email or pm's. I did that last year with the central cal meet and contacted over 43 ridgeline owners between the then two clubs, and guess what, three of us showed up at Mount Diablo and it was a gorgeous day that got to 83 with no breezes, it was beautiful even though the bay area and surrounding low lands were cloaked in fog. I have 10 on the roc for yosemite out of 17 votes and one other on myridge. So far besides me the only other duplicate vote is Dave. I have a little less than a month before making reservations and it would be great to know if there were going to 15 to 20 of us. More would be grand, but with gas prices through the roof, many may not be taking such a long trip after the summer. I am though, one war or another.

I cannot find a way to directly find California members without going through every member profile for State of Cal. There are at least 24 pages of members and not all have state affiliation. I did pm or email those that had posted on any California thread.

Martin

ps. we are up to 15 for the meet being in Yosemite, I can't find a way to find out who voted on the poll and can only count those that emailed, pm'd or responded to the thread about the meet. I do not know who voted for Santa Cruz or Pismo beach and wether they may duplicate votes on the roc or on myridge.

Does anyone know how to make the poll results public? I cannot tally the votes and compare them with the roc or myridge for duplicate voters. Currently there are a confirmed 17 for Yosemite, 1 for Sutters Buttes, 4 for Santa Cruz, 2 for Hearst Castle, 3 for Pismo Beach and 1 for Lake Comanche. This is from all three forums.

If you are looking for who voted what, I don't have a setting for that. There is a tally next to each choice, though.

This poll closes on May 14th and on May 15th I will be making reservations for a group site for 20 or more vehicles. I emailed and private messaged well over 100 members from all three ridgeline forums. There are currently over 20 votes for Yosemite, Santa Cruz is at 6. Rates at Curry and Housekeeping village are $85 a night for 2 people with the first night paid on May 15 for September. Group rates are $40 for the group sites, I will find out on Monday if it is per night. The entrance fee is $20 per vehicle.
