Fellow Ridgeliners,
I just had too (laughing).
How ironic is it that Avalache2005 would come to a website of a vehicle that he is totally against, register, and offer so much information (how he's been on Honda's website, commercials, dealerships, etc.) and talk about the Ridgeline? Was it not just me or anyone else out there, get the sense that deep down inside this is a person who is a undercover Ridgeline lover? For someone to have gone as far as he did and reasearch all of his facts about the Ridgeline and come here, makes one really wonder.
Maybe because the Ridgeline is in such demand and no one is paying attention (as they haven't in the past) to the Avalanche, he feels "lonely".
Avalanche if you decide to re-surface under another name, can you use your facts and explain the following about the Avalanche:
1. If you go to this link ( I know it's for 2004 and you have a 2005), http://www.alldata.com/TSB/11/0411B8IZ.html can you tell me if Chevy corrected any of the 51 Recalls/Service Bulletins issued on the Avalnche, between Jul03-Apr04? Note: Fellow Ridgeline owners, notice how may "Inoperatives" the Avalanche had.
2. Just another 2004 recall article with regard to the Avalanche and other GMC products: General Motors Recalling Four Million Trucks: Tailgate support cable issues. General Motors is recalling about 4 million 2000-2004 model-year full-size pickups worldwide to replace tailgate support cables that may corrode and fracture. The models involved are certain 2000-2004 Chevrolet Silverado's and GMC Sierra's built between October 1999 and October 2003. Also, some 2002-04 Chevrolet Avalanche and Cadillac Escalade EXT.
I didn't forget about the ford owners.......
For the F150 owners, you may want to read the attached link (http://trucks.about.com/od/carsafety/a/speed_switch.htm) as recent reports have been published that the Ford F150, Expeditions, and even Lincoln Navigators were being recalled due to the cruise control catching fire under the hood, when in park.
I wish I could can say see you on the road, but it appears that you maybe back at the delarship for a while.
There are some Honda Dealers (that actually support the website) here that I think will be more than willing to add a few dollars to the trade in value of your truck and get you into a Ridgeline. |

| He has a 2003 Avalanche 2500, not a 2005. I wouldnt go talkin bad about chevys or fords either, i mean the Ridge just came out and im pretty sure it aint gonna be perfect either. And about the tailgate straps, that mostly pretained to people who load alot of stuff in the bed, like my dad who has a 2002 Av and puts big loads on the tail gate and loads his ATV on the tailgate and 1 of them broke, but it was right after the recal so he got new ones. but the Ridge only has 1 tailgate strap so i dont know if i would want to load much stuff on it because it would probably break with a heavy load. |

| I won't run down chevys or any other trucks but he was obviously here to just stir things up. I repect all peoples right to purchase what they want but he was way over the top. He went for topic to topic just to post negative comments about the Ridge. I think his purpose here was not to further knowledge on the Ridge. |

[preach=on]
I think running down other trucks isn't good practice, but if there were a place to run down other trucks (other than the Ridgeline), this would be the place, but there's no reason to be negative. This, however, is not the place to run down the Ridgeline; that can be done on one of the many non-Ridgeline sites. Trolls should be humored, and then deleted or blocked! There's no reason to go to great lengths just to irritate other people, but these trolls exist on all forums that I have been on, and they are dealt with swiftly...in the meantime, it's probably better to just ignore those whose opinions are contrary to the purpose of this site, which is to share information about our Ridgelines.

| I think it's funny how no one can get it right -- the poor banned man deserves a little respect here...as stated above, he was/is avalanche2500, not 2005! And since he was so careful to make sure we knew the size of his truck, we can rest assured that he's actually a vw bug driver! So, for now on, let's refer to him as he would want us to! 8) |

Very interesting.... As I owner of a CRV and Ridgeline I swear by Hondas product.
Which brings me to ask my fellow ridgeliners. Are unions at fault for the quality of North Americans vehicles and lack of sales. All my friends think so.
Honda has no union and I know the for a fact the employees at the alliston plant in Canada where the Ridgeline is produced are highly motivated in quality and assurance. They have great benefits i.e subsidised baby sitting and cafeterias etc....
I have friends that work at GM and they can tell you horror storys on how employees get back at GM.
I guess thats why I own two Hondas and contribute to keeping Canadians employed in alliston.

Avalanche owners are just sorry that their vehicles aren't as AMERICAN as our Honda Ridgeline.
Avalanche: 67% American/Canada
Ridgeline: 75% American/Canada
Foreign? American?: A breakdown of 2006 models
Looks like they need to buy AMERICAN! |
