| What's with the whimpya** spare? It's a 1/2 ton truck and Honda sticks a bicycle size spare. Come on. I want mine replaced with a manly tire. |

| A full size spare will fit. There's a set of four take-offs on eBay right now. I'd be willing to broker a deal if I can find three other Ridgeline owners wanting a full size spare. I'd bid on the auction and then ship out the other three spares when they arrive. |

Doctor,
Saw that on Ebay as well, and was wondering what I would do with 3 more tires. Count me in, and ship deflated (smile). |

| That was quick! What's the price per tire including shipping, and is it possible to still get in? |

| I didn't see the rim for sale on ebay, but I did see four mounted tires currently going for $499 or so. |

Doc:
That's cool, that's why I asked if you were in. Do we have four buyers for the tires?
Did you find the decals on ebay? |

| Did anyone post a per tire price? Are we talking about the ebay auction that was at $499 and change yesterday for four tires and wheels? If so, what would the shipping add to that? Not trying to be a pain in the 'you know what,' I'm just curious. |

| The current high bid on the tires is $499.50, the minimum bid is $504.50. Add the $125 shipping and we're talking about $157 each, plus shipping on the three wheels that go to you guys. Anyone know how much the Honda full size spare is? One thing to keep in mind, while this will get us a full size wheel/tire to use as a spare, it doesn't get us the jack relocation kit or new hardware needed to mount the wheel in the spare well. If anyone has pricing info on that stuff please post it, otherwise I'll start asking around. |

| According to the manual, use the same bolt, invert the "spacer cone" and mount on the tray. The jack tool box fits in the right side of the in-bed-trunk. Shouldn't be any additional cost. I'll bet the tire alone is pushing two bills. |

| TireRack has the oe tires for $134 each. I haven't checked to see if they're exactly what I have on mine, but they say on the website that they're oe. |

| I am not going to switch but I have been selling cars and trucks for over 20 years and this is the first truck I have ever seen without a full sized spare. Odd. If you were going to go off road I can see why you would want one, but I did not buy mine for that so I will just save the weight and space but if they had given me a choice I would have taken a full sized one. |

| I went through this with my mdx and decided not to get the full size spare. The best arguement was that if fully loaded you'd probably want a more substantial tire to replace a flat even if to just get to the nearest tire store. I agree, but will most likely take my chances! |

The auction ends in 2 hours and they're still at $500. I'm figuring about $25-$30 each for the three wheels that I'll have to ship out once they get to me. It looks like I was wrong about the additional hardware, tkh was right, you just need to set the tools out on the shelf in the trunk and flip the cone over.
I just called my dealer to get a quote on a spare full size wheel/tire. $392.20, not including mounting, balancing and sales tax. The wheel alone is $250.
I'd like to go through with this because Honda says you should have the full size spare if you're going to be towing, and I plan to regularly tow our big trailer, fully loaded, at about 5,000 lbs.
Anyone else who's willing to jump in on this and can either PayPal the money to me now or can seriously commit to sending it to me please PM or email me ASAP! |
