Guys - Got the RTS last night. Green all good
First Impressions.
Interior;
For those of you who are considering leather vs. cloth. The interior of the RTS is excellent and very comfortable. My last three cars had leather interiors so I had a lot of comparison. The RTL does offer some other things for the $1500 that may be worth while though. Heated seats, Homelink, and XM radio. The interior is fine but the other options in the package may be worth the $$.
Ride;
I have had five Honda vehicles in the past (all motorcycles) the last two Gold Wings this is my first Honda "car". Thing rides much, much better than I expected, takes road bumps quetly and securly. The interior noise is very limited (with the exception of the top windshield whissing sound) that I probably would never have noticed if it was not for this forum! The RTS is heavier than I thought it would be (and generally bigger) as well. All good surprises. I had originally ordered an F150 and chickened out as I saw gas prices going though the roof and would only be using the truck for recreation.
Standard Accessories;
For those of you that drive Harley's you know that Honda took a page right out of the H.D. play book here. I can not believe that I need to install floor boards or a tow hitch. One of our other cars is a Toyota Sequaya (sp) and it comes fully loaded with all of the above.
Wheels;
The RTS has the 17" alloys but they look like tin. For an upgrade Honda should have actually "upgraded" and not just said they did.
I am a little confused about the auto lock system but will figure it out this pm.
End of day. I am happy, better ride and workmanship than I expected. Need to through a few more grand in the truck to be totally happy.

I have the green rtl and got it for the homelink and leather. I've already added the roof rack and have the tow package on order. Seems to be logical to make the tow package standard, but they (honda) forgot to ask me!
Have fun and let us know what you do about add-ons. |

| Not everyone will tow with their Ridges. I will but if you don't why would you want to pay for something you won't use. Chevy and Ford make the trailer Hitch package optional, however not as high and factory installed. There are a lot of things they could have made standard. But look at some of the things they did make standard: Power rear window, locking trunk and many others. :lol: |

I totally agree! I will tow and I don't mind the extra $416 for the package. I have no need for roof-racks, etc and I'm very happy that Honda leaves them off so that I am not paying for something I will never use.
YMMV |

| That could be said about almost anything, but the manufacturers have to make decisions which are a combination of giving the customer what he wants so he buys the product and not giving him everything so he will spend more money on add-ons. |

The tow package is all I wanted also.
Most of that stuff is totally unnecessary to me.
I do like the optional grill though.
That's why there's options.
I agree with the wheels.
Ugly. What's with the primer finish? :x
Only one wheel option?
Not much better. I'll wait.
I like everything that came on the rtl s/r though.
Leather, homelink, XM.
Also the first time I didn't have to
drive straight to the stereo shop! :twisted: |

Guys;
I agree will all comments. The truck does have more to offer than I expected especially after reading the owners manual. BUT, lets face it floor boards would have been nice and rear mud flaps. I mean the truck is kind of naked without them don't you agree? I am just comparing the standard package with Toyota competion. Drive is superior I will admit, I am very impressed with the quality and glad I followed my instistints and bought the Ridgeline (I did not even drive the car until I was on my way home from the dealer). |

Rear spalsh guards I agree (same deal on the Pilot - they are an option). Running boards - some people do and some people don't - so Honda's approach to make them an option makes sense to me. :D |

I agree. We needed the boards but a lot of people on the site hate them so they would have to take them off or not buy the truck. Having them as an option seems to make more sense to me.colorider wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")spike wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")Guys;
