I am considering adding the bed cover. Does anyone know how easily the cover can be removed? Ideally, after I have the rails, etc. mounted, I will be able to easily put it on or take it off depending on hauling needs. If you have the cover, I would appreciate feedback.

Also, what is the going price for installation? Hours or dollars.

If I can believe what I've read there seems to be more negative than positive on the Honda version. Being a new truck the jobbers are doing thier R & D and that takes time to bring a good product to market. I am holding tight to see what these two will have to offer.

Hi
Spoke to Pace Edwards and they said they will not be designing a roll top cover because of incompatibility problems. Pace Edwards roll top overhangs the side rails normally. Lifting the in bed trunk lid causes an interference because Honda decided to design a trunk lid that is so close to the width of the bed. An opening angle of only 30 degrees would be available because of the interference making it almost impossible to remove items from the trunk. Pace Edwards has bowed out.

Retrax (www.rolltopcover.com) is nearing completion of a prototype and plans on being in production in approx. 2 weeks. Retrax estimates a probability of a successful design nearing 100% at this time. Keep an eye on them. Its the way to go. Its less expensive than th Honda toneau, more functional by providing 0 to 100% of the full bed opening for large items yet enabling full locked closure.

You don't want to remove the Honda toneau cover. It is heavy requiring 2 people and a minimum of 4 bolts would have to be removed and reinstalled each time.

Honda blew it on this part of the design and I'm sure they are getting lots of feedback. I know their in bed trunk lid will change but right we are at the mercy of the the aftermarket people. They will come through. Be patient.

I have not removed mine, but it looks like four bolts to undo the front section. I've heard it's heavy enough where you'd want help removing it.

As far as price, I believe retail is $1524 installed. I paid $1207 installed. College Hills Honda sells the cover alone for $1074, so I though what I paid was decent.

The retrax works well and a number of us paid 799 for it. Install was really easy. Not saying that it is better than others but it works well for me and the others who have purchased it as far as I know.
