Anyone got a line on some nice looking aftermarket seat covers for the Ridge? Thanks.

I'm sure someone will offer them. Me, I would rather enjoy the seats and let the next guy worry about any wear on them - rather than enjoying near-new seats that I kept covered the whole time of ownership. I will still make every effort to protect and not abuse my seats - but I will not put seat covers on.

YMMV

I have some some georgeous $1,000 full Sheepskin front covers on my old 4Runner that I was going to put on my Ridge (the sheepskin is much nicer on the back of bare legs than leather) BUT, with the airbags in the side of the seat I figure I can't do that.

We are looking for good seat covers too. We don't especially like the leather and we want to have something over them for the occassional times that our dogs go into the front.

I am going to just enjoy the seats that came in it. I love leather seats anyway and I am not going to save it for the next guy. I have done that too many times. It is mine and I am going to enjoy it.

I looooove leather seats! Seat covers are not welcome in my Ridgeline! But to each his own 8)

I have two cocker spaniels that like to ride in the back seat. Some times we get little doggie prints on the leather, but they wipe right off. The olive interior doesn't show the prints as much as the black leather I have in my TSX.

Our dogs normally ride in a kennel. The only concern I would have is a dog may get a toenail caught in one of the perfs which could hurt the dog and/or damage the leather. This has happened to a few people over on the Pilot forum. Perhaps just a blanket would solve the problem.

My fiance is involved with animal rescue (dogs and horses). For know she transports dogs in the back of our extra cab Tacoma. It would better on the leather to just fold the seats up in the back of the RL and keep the dogs back there, that's what she plans to do. It's probably safer too since they are on the floor which is a more stable surface, if the dog is on the seat and you brake hard it will be tossed off and land on the floor or go through the windshield!

They make dog seatbelts now. Here's a link for one manufacturer.

http://www.canineauto.com/

Quote from another site: "Keep your dog from becoming a dangerous missile that could injure your family in adverse situations. A pet is propelled with force equal to 30 times its weight in a 30 mile-per-hour accident, according to crash tests conducted by IMMI. A 30-pound dog can be sent flying with the equivalent of 900 pounds of force behind it, enough to kill it and anything in its path. At faster speeds, the force is even higher."

Just something to think about. My brain has been in safety mode lately from the topic "Do you buckle up".

CBR,
Good points. Actually my three dogs were in our Pilot (in their kennel) at the time of our wreck. The kennel moved forward about a half-foot and of course their little bodies were thrown some too - but we never heard a peep out of them!

Good to hear you had them secure. I used to transport my Giant Schnauzer in a large crate in the back of my reg cab Tacoma. I secured it at multiple points so he was quite safe.

I get so angry when I see people (rednecks) down here in AZ with their dogs loose in the bed. I guess pets don't mean much to them, or they lack the intelligence to know better, or maybe it's both!?

My fiance and are having dogs instead of kids so it's no surprise how I feel!

Yes after running 10-12 miles at the lake and jumping in a brand new truck dripping wet kinda of sucks.
Or watching My four year old spill her ice cream/whatever goeeey drink she will eventually dump on the leather.

My buddy just put Neoprene covers in his new Hummer.

That would be cool if someone made them for the Ridgeline.

The front seats contain airbags. Doesn't that rule out covers for them? If not, I still would like to get some. I guess they'd have to have break away sides, if anyone makes something like that.

Going to the beach, I lam ooking at a way to reduce sand getting into the pours of the leather. Yes, the front seats have SRS tags on the sides of the seats. Maybe if the cover had a side split it would not hider air bag deployment. I bet if we could find seat covers for the Pilot they would work for the Ridgeline? What do you think?

Congratulations. That blue is a real nice color. They dealer traded one for my silver one ( their trade) and I really would have preferred the blue, however I am happy with the silverCarolinaRidgeline wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")Going to the beach, I lam ooking at a way to reduce sand getting into the pours of the leather. Was thinking of covers for the rear seats but not the fronts. We'll see what comes out and if I like them or not.

Thanks, I am low key. Got 600 miles on the truck in the first week of ownership. More than half have been interstate and got 21.3 MPG today. The other half has been on gravel roads here in the mountains. Oil life according to the computer is down to 90% already, does this seem right to the rest of you? All, driving the truck hard on these gravels roads, I have a "plastic" vibration coming from the sun roof button area or plastic covering the gauges in the RPM side. On smooth roads, no vibration. Excellent truck, better built than than the Pilot IMHO. I am a very lucky to drive this nice of vehicle.

Aren't there side airbags in the front seats that deploy in an accident? Wouldn't this mean that if you want them to work you couldn't put front seat covers on?????

I keep racking up the miles as well, although it seems to have slowed a bit now that I am riding the MC to work every day again. Your mileage is very similar to what I have gotten on pure interstate. I look for it to improve as I get more miles. I consistently got better mileage on my Pilot than EPA ratings.

The 90% seems a little low since to the best of my knowledge it is calibrated to the 7500 mile interval.

Yes - and that is why certain types of seat covers should be avoided.
