I see that as being an issue for a lot of guys. If you're a baseball fan, you need XM, if you're a football fan, then you need Sirus. If you like both, I'd pick XM, because baseball is on more days than football. Not a lot of difference between the two otherwise.... 8)

Not thru honda. The formats differ so you will have to install a new unit. Would be nice if they were interchangeable but that is not the case :o

I have the RTL with NAV and Moonroof. Can you swap out the XM reciever for Sirus? If so, will Sirus operate with the NAV display?

I have Sirus in my other cars and home and I much prefer Sirus over XM

Thanks

Short answer. No. My other car has a place for Sirus. Had to put an adaptor in and run it thru the radio. definitely will not work with the NAV. Not the answer you want, I'm sure but the correct answer.

Give up Boatweiser Any factory installed satellite radio will be fully integrated with the cars radio system. I guess you could tear it out if you wanted, but that's about a $2500 waste of money. Give up, surrender, live with XM. There's hardly any difference between the systems, other than the fact that XM has MLB. Oh, and Sirius has a generation behind system.

If you're really desperate for the dog, you'll note an AUX input right above the glove compartment. You could get a Sirius PNP, run power from the AC outlet, and thread the antenna wire up to the roof (you CANNOT use the XM antenna, so don't ask).

Anyways, XM is equivalent to Sirius, so why are you going through this consternation?

I think a lot of people are stuck on Sirius because it covers NASCAR. Not on my "gotta have" list and I am VERY pleased with XM.

YMMV :)

Watching a bunch of guys driving cars in left-handed turns is bad enough. But listening to it on the radio? I don't get it. The only racing I might watch is F1, because they at least drive modern cars over a road course, but it's boring because Ferrari wins year after year.

XM has a better signal, has better music channels, and has MLB. There are only two things I like about Sirius: they have the real NPR and they have NHL. However, the rumor on the XM forums is that that Sirius has a non-exclusive license with the NHL, and XM is offering the NHL a better deal for an exclusive.

But there is nothing like MLB on XM. I'm a huge Marlins fan, and I listen to the games in my office and in my two cars. For that reason alone, Sirius is a non-starter. But, for the NHL season, I might get a Sirius PNP just to listen to my Kings (although I have season's tickets, so I'll be at almost every home game).

Actually XM still has NASCAR. I think it is next year when Sirus get it. I like nascar, but then again I like F1 also. Colorider, Hi. I have been around. Just lurking. Have not had anything to say on the subjects so I just post when I have something to contribute. As to Ferarri, they are doing very poorly this year. Only won a single race and that was Indy when only eight cars started. They do have road courses in NASCAR also and for us poor red-necks who happen to like a close race the raido is so we don't have to sit at home and watch tv to find out what is happening. That way we can go out and shop for shoes since we have never worn any up till now.

Sorry - I must have had it backwards thinking that Sirius had NACAR and not XM. I would'nt listen to it in either case - but I'm sure many enjoy it.

RR, self-deprecating humor is fine when you've been insulted, but I hope nothing I wrote about NASCAR was insulting to you. Unless you're a NASCAR driver, in which case, I'm SOL. I just don't like car racing in general, and watching a bunch of American cars with iron block engines, 4 speed transmissions, and going in circles (mostly) is no fun.

Anyways, I hope you weren't offended. Besides I lived in Missouri for 4 years, and everyone I knew wore shoes.

Sirus gets NASCAR next year. They did outbid XM for the broadcasting rights and it takes effect next year I believe. I know XM has it because I went to the store for dog-food a few minutes ago and listened to it while i was away. No I am not a NASCAR driver. I wish. Rather drive F1. 50 mil a year isn't too bad. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. I like racing and hate hockey you hate racing and love hockey. No one is right or wrong. just different. Just kidding on my part. did not mean to offend.
