Sophisticated & tough "yea". Well 06 I've proven that's it's more than a city truck. Here in rural Saskatchewan we have roads that are good bad and ugly, Primary Paved,Secondary Paved,Dirt and Gravel. You no what 06 I've blowen away Chevs,Fords and Dodges on secondary paved and dirt roads on numerous occasions. Love it am so confident that I will lay a grand Cdn $ on the line that I'll take them out, it comes down to Independent suspension vs the solid rear axle. Ya Hp and Brawn is the factor in the 0 to 60 or the 1/4 mile "but no thanks I'll take the ride and handling of the Ridge. And on a good paved road you V/8 guys break Radar and I'll hang in there with you. Gotta say my best challange was a Chevy buddie that called my Ridge Japanesse junk, loved his red face after taking him out on a secondary paved road (damm rough) his back end wanted to meet the front end. Am still waiting for my 1st Avalanche challenge oh ya it has a great car like ride, but just my 02 on that to soft a handing kinda like driving a water bed "Yes I've driven them but not on rough road"
"Speed kills Don't hurray death up it comes quick enofe"
"Drive Carefully watch the vehicle behind the vehicle in front of you" 2006Ridgeline wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")

That's probably the best 'rugged' review of the Ridgeline that I've read! I didn't mean that the Ridgeline wasn't rugged, all I meant was it is exactly what I was looking for -- something that is great to drive (i.e. comfortable, responsive, etc) on paved roads, and tough enough to handle the light hauling and towing that I will be doing. It's great to know that the Ridgeline's capability far exceeds my needs! 8)
Funny story: I was driving on a long, straight residential road that has a speed bump (actually a hill) every once in a while with speed posted at 30mph for the bump. My Acura Tl would easily take these bumps at 40 or higher. One day I was in my Ridgeline, took the bump at close to 50 with no problem, but the Ford behind me almost lost control, came close to leaving the road, and slowed way, way down after that. Must've been kinda jarring for him! Just a bump in the road for me. |
