Good point, but at least the trunk locks. The cover would be a good thing to have in winter climates so the trunk does not ice over and the bed does not fill with snow, it can always be removed if you need to haul something tall.
I know the naysayers are already trying to pick apart innovative features like the trunk in the bed, one commented on the spare not being accessible when the bed is full of material like mulch, etc. Although this would pose a problem, having the tire under the bed poses problems too.
One example is tire theft (a big problem with Tacoma's, I stopped that with a large cable and lock). Of course Honda provides an option to store the tire in the bed if desired.
I've had one flat tire on a 4x4 (in seven years). I was off road on really sharp rocks and one of the lugs was literally ripped off of the tire, it took only a few seconds to fully deflate. Tire technology has come along way, I consider this to be a non-issue (for me that is).

| I'm sure that some aftermarket folks will come up with a cool & secure bed cover for the Ridegline. They are probably working on it right now... |
