Dear Honda Dealer Principal, Parts Manager, and Service Manager,

We at American Honda remain confident in our ability to consistently deliver high-quality, reliable vehicles to our clients in a competitive market.

To demonstrate this confidence, American Honda is adding a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty to all 2006 model-year Honda vehicles. This warranty is in addition to our normal three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.

This powertrain limited warranty is unprecedented for American Honda, demonstrating our commitment to your customers and our willingness to stand behind our vehicles. This warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship on powertrain components including the engine, transmission, and front- and rear-wheel-drive systems, under normal use. The powertrain limited warranty information has been added to the 2006 Honda warranties booklets for all models.

This new powertrain limited warranty retroactively extends to customers who have already purchased 2006 Ridgelines. In August 2005, AHM will send an information letter and an updated warranty booklet to customers who received the non-updated warranty booklet when they purchased their Ridgelines. At that time, AHM will also mail letters and updated booklets to you to replace booklets in unsold vehicles in your inventory. The updated booklet will be applied to the production line at the same time.

thats great news, i feel better that i didn't get the Honda Care from the stealer...hopefully they'll rerate the charges for the RL owners who bought the xtended warranty

I would say the reason(s) are spelled "T-O-Y-O-T-A" and "N-I-S-S-A-N"

Read the wording carefully...this is only powertrain. If you purchased an extended warranty, it will cover more than this...how much more depends on the plan you buy. I'll probably get a service contract from Warranty Direct before I hit 36k miles.

Finally Honda made a dribble on thier News Site about the Warranty. It's the very last sentence on the 2006 Odyssey . Who knows maybe they will continue to dribble or make one big splash for all Models. But am happy to hear they ended the double standard for North America. Bought mine last tuesday, it came with a 5 year powertrain, and 3 year bumper to bumper.

Anyone here anymore on this warranty?Funny thing is I printed it out (Honda news)and they took out the, all the new 2006, before Odyssey. How do they do that? I always thought what you could see on the page would be printed?

I bought the 100K warranty, so mine is covered way past the 60K mark. I have seen the 60K pwertrain warrtanty advertised. As for printing from the website, they can block anything they want. You have to look at the paperwork that is given to you when you buy your vehicle (ANY vehicle, for that matter).

My warranty book states the 5 year 60,000 mile Powertrain warranty in it. I bought it on August 31, 2005, and it had arrived at the dealership that day (7 miles on the odometer), but don't know the build date off hand. Bumper to bumper is still 3/36,000.

i know this is fact. i got a letter with my new manual and warrenty book that stated the extention of the warrenty to all ridgelines.
i was very happy to see that
