My dealer wants $140.00 for the storage system plus another $40.00 for install. Is this worth it?? Is there anything to putting this in? It seems like it just slides in am I right ? Any help would be appreciated.
Thx

IMHO, it's good to shop with your local stealer, but when they try to work you over, then it's time to order on-line and DIY.
It takes all of about 5 minutes, a metric wrench and a sharp blade to install.
Enjoy!! I have mine. |

Take a printout of the page from hondacuraworld.com with the price on it to your dealer -- they'll probably match the price, I know mine usually does. The only time they didn't was when hondacuraworld.com had a price too low to match (like their old honda hitch price which has since been raised).
As for the installation, I'm a diyer, so I would never even consider letting the dealer do it, but if you're not that kind of person, I'd let them know that $40 is a little high for 10 minutes of work! Try to get them to sell it to you and install it all for a flat fee, like $150 or something you can both live with. No hassle for you, and they keep a customer happy. |

| There's no big deal -- it was just a joke itself! Sorry if it offended you. The number of posts is certainly not something that matters at all. Colorider and I have had an unofficial post race...whether he knows it or not! 8) |

And you know, if colorider can do it (install the storage system), then you can do it, too!
But seriously, I know some people just don't want to install their own stuff, so let the dealer do it and get it done right, they'll love you for it and you'll feel comfortable having it in without any problems. I dont' know if the warranty really matters with this unit, but doesn't the factory warranty cover dealer-installed accessories?

The problem is not always will the item be installed right by a stealer.

| How very true, colorider, but if it's not done right they should and usually will reinstall it and get it right the next time. If they don't get it right, you have some recourse unlike when you install it yourself. (BTW didn't we have a member who had a horrible experience with dealer installed items? Wonder what happened to him?) |

| This was the one accessory I didn't like. It will reduce the amount of storage space under the rear seats. It reduces space by both the length and width. I had a toolbox that fit perfectly before I had this installed. It didn't fit afterwards. It will keep a bunch of loose items from spilling out if you need that. I removed it. Will sell cheap if I could figure out how to ship it. |

I guess this is true of most any accessory. What works for one person is not always good for the next. I like mine for just the reason you mention above.
YMMV, etc....
