Picked up a Steel Blue Metallic RTL S/R Nav tonight for $1 under invoice, plus tax, tags and tire recycle fee (mandatory state fee).
I shopped around locally and found no joy. The local dealers didn't have what I wanted (color and options) and they weren't willing to deal enough. I always have better luck when I deal directly with a manager (or person of authority) at a dealership.
On Sunday I emailed several dealers in my state and surrounding states (quite a few actually) from the Honda website. I got a reply back within 30 minutes from a dealer that had what I wanted and was willing to give me my price (hey it is end of the month).
They didn't try to sell me anything extra and there were NO profit center items like VIN etching etc on the vehicle -- just the way I wanted it.
We emailed a few times, chatted on Monday via telephone and I picked up the Ridgeline today.
I'm very pleased so far. There are several things I don't like about the Ridgeline but there are many more things that I do like.
It was a 90 mile ride each way and I used the Nav to take me home :)
This is my first Honda. I really hope my Ridgeline lives up to the Honda reputation! |

Congrats and welcome to the forum. It's handy for others to see where your from, so if you get a few minute - please update your profile to include your location. Also, don't forget to vote over in the polls section.
Again - welcome aboard!! |

ssmokn,
What are the things you alluded (sp?) to that you don't care for?

There are quite a few actually.
The biggest is the lack of power from the 3.5L.
Transmission hunts more than I think it should
No rear mud flaps standard
I'm amazed that backup sensors are not standard on the RTL with Nav
Units with Nav should be factory prewired for back camera and backup sensors (in my opinion)
I don't like the brightwork on the door handles and steering wheel
I realize that this vehicle is not meant for offroading but Honda did some stupid stuff like rear parking brake cables mounted to the bottom of the frame (and it isn't a real frame), the exhaust is routed under the rear axle shaft (that is going to get wasted with any mild off roading or over curb action)
There are more but this is my short list...
Let me drive it for a week or so and I'll put a list together :) Of course this is my opinion. Obviously there is much that I like -- I did buy one  |
