What kind of monitor to use for graphic designers?

My graphic designer is crying for new monitor but: CRTs are not to be found any more and LCDs show the same color differently at the top compared to the bottom of the screen.

No, it is not the angle I am looking from at the LCD, it allways shows a difference. (test e.g. open Excel, create new spreadsheet, select all, fill ti with light yellow and you will see completelly different yellow at the top than at the bottom).

Any idea what kind of monitor to buy for him?

I’m a graphics designer and I am using two 17inches LCD monitors on one computer. No problems at all. Buy him a nice high-end LCD monitor (it would be much better if you could buy em two sets).
