What is the best way to clean stubborn green algae off an acrylic tank?

I have a Mag Float for acrylic tanks but where the tank is curved, it will not clean off this green algae. The algae is also right below the light and I am guilty of leaving the light on for upwards of 12 hours. I have tried to wipe it off, I have tried scraping with my fingernail but I don’t want to scratch the acrylic. Any suggestions?
